This role is responsible for managing and supporting all quality control operations across inbound receiving, outbound fulfillment, and cross-functional compliance. The QA Manager will serve as the primary quality decision-maker, build and develop a QC team member reporting directly to them, and ensure our products meet the highest standards from factory to fulfillment through a combination of strategic oversight and regular, scheduled floor presence.

In return for your time and talents, we'll provide a values-driven culture, where team members do the right thing, pursue originality, embrace and drive change, respect every person, give generously, build community through empathy, and infuse passion in all we do. The salary range for this role is $71,000-$106,000 per year. We offer comprehensive benefits including paid volunteer leave to support you as you give back to the community.

At Accent Decor, we don't just accept difference - we celebrate it, support it, and thrive on it for the benefit of our team members, our products, and our community. We are proud to be an equal-opportunity workplace.

We'd love to hear from you if you are adaptable, innovative, and your skill set includes:

Team Leadership & Development
  • Developing and managing a QC Coordinator who will report directly to this role.
  • Providing day-to-day coaching, training, and performance feedback to the QC team member.
  • Establishing QC workflows, inspection checklists, and standard operating procedures for the team.
  • Delegating hands-on inspection and testing tasks appropriately while maintaining overall accountability for quality outcomes.

Inbound & Product Inspection

  • Establish inspection checklists and quality standards that the QC Coordinator executes daily on the warehouse floor.
  • Be on-site during scheduled DC days to audit and spot-check inbound shipments, review flagged items, and validate the QC Coordinator's work.
  • Provide guidance on acceptable quality ranges across all product categories.
  • Be reachable and responsive during quality escalations outside of scheduled DC days, with the ability to be on-site promptly when needed.
  • Manage supplier credits for damages upon receipt and determine appropriate factory compensation for quality defects, using documentation and photos provided by the QC Coordinator.

Quality Issue Management

  • Handling quality decisions as they arise and manage Wrike ticketing and timelines for all quality issues.
  • Coordinating customer-facing communication related to quality concerns.
  • Coordinating product donations resulting from quality claims.
  • Providing guidance to the Creative team on updating photography to reflect product corrections.

Packaging Compliance & Improvement

  • Making case pack revision recommendations to reduce damages, including pricing implications.
  • Coordinating with Merchandising on pricing updates following packaging revisions.
  • Evaluating ROI on packaging improvements and present findings to leadership.
  • Issuing supplier packaging update recommendations (e.g., addition of Styrofoam or protective materials).

Product Testing

  • Determining which products require testing upon arrival or prior to sale.
  • Conducting or overseeing product testing including: water tightness, candle tip, weight-bearing, food safety, and weights/measures per Sales team requests.
  • Managing retest reviews, maintaining testing records, and managing testing costs.
  • Managing relationships with third-party testing partners (e.g., Intertek).

Legal & Regulatory Compliance

  • Owning Prop 65 testing coordination and ongoing management - including tracking product compliance, managing test schedules, and maintaining documentation.
  • Managing copyright determinations and ongoing compliance for applicable products.
  • Conducting commodity-specific regulatory reviews for new and existing product lines.
  • Performing regulatory risk assessments for new materials and collections.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serving as the primary quality liaison between internal teams (Merchandising, Product Development, International, Finance) and external factory partners.
  • Coordinating inbound execution alignment with logistics, finance, and product teams to ensure shipments are accurate, compliant, and on schedule.
  • Communicating product usage intent to internal teams and testing partners.
  • Providing direction to the International Team on product issues and factory communications.

You'll stand out from other applicants if you can show:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Product Compliance, or a related role - preferably in home decor, consumer goods, or import/wholesale.
  • Proven experience managing or developing direct reports in a QA or QC capacity.
  • Comfortable balancing office-based strategic work with regular scheduled time on the warehouse floor for inspections, audits, and team development.
  • Working knowledge of Prop 65 requirements, food safety standards, and general product regulatory compliance.
  • Experience coordinating with third-party testing labs (e.g., Intertek, SGS, or similar).
  • Strong project management skills; experience with Wrike or similar platforms preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate product damages and make data-driven packaging and cost recommendations.
