SUMMARY

The Senior Quality Assurance Engineers ensure product quality through the development, documentation, and application of quality assurance methodologies, under minimal direct supervision. Assist in the management of an integrated quality management software database that tracks the status of documents, audits, customers, suppliers, capital and calibrated equipment, training, initiatives, and nonconformance’s. Performs as a Lead Auditor for Internal and External Auditing functions. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Performs as Lead Auditor in both the Internal and External Auditing functions.
  • Develops and performs compliance audits for applicable industry and regulatory requirements.
    • Regulatory US/International (FAA, EASA, GCAA, ITAR/EAR, etc.)
    • Process (NDT, Special Process, QMS, etc.)
    • Industry (ISO 9001/AS9100, ISO 14001 EMS, etc.)
  • Plans, organizes, and facilitates Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Planning events.
  • Assist in the development of strategies and procedures in response to QMS changes.
  • Reviews and recommends improvements to the Quality Management System as required to ensure compliance with contract requirements. 
  • Participates in document control management including external technical data.
  • Interface with customer representatives and act as a liaison for quality related matters as assigned including delegated source inspection.
  • Utilizes the ERP system to identify customer contract or purchase order requirements, and communicates them to the organization to ensure compliance
  • Complete initial / recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist the supervisor in leading, coaching, mentoring, training, and motivating team members. 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience in the aviation or aerospace industry.
  • 5 to 7 years of previous experience with the ISO 9001/AS9100 Standard and FAA regulations.
  • Familiarity with Lean / Six Sigma / continuous improvement concepts. 
  • Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and technical data.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

  • Read, write, and understand the English language. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

ASQ CQA certification is preferred.
