The Quality Assurance Coordinator supports quality improvement efforts by managing how performance data is collected, reviewed, and shared within a correctional health care setting. Working under the direction of site leadership, the position helps ensure records and documentation meet required protocols and health care standards. The role focuses on monitoring compliance and driving quality improvement activities tied to CalAIM programs. It plays an important part in evaluating performance and supporting accountability for care delivered to the justice-involved population.

  • Collects, analyzes, and oversees quality performance data and related data entry
  • Designs, conducts, and evaluates quality audits, reviews, and control plans
  • Performs and coordinates medical record and documentation reviews to abstract relevant data
  • Prepares and generates reports on performance against quality indicators and CalAIM metrics
  • Collaborates with leadership to address gaps, support training efforts, and implement corrective actions

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Education

  • Graduate degree from a nationally accredited nursing program
  • Training in processes and quality tools

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working in a QA setting or hold certificate in quality (i.e. Green Belt, Certified Quality Technician, Quality Improvement Associate or Quality Inspector)
  • A background in healthcare quality assurance and a solid understanding of CalAIM policies and Medi-Cal requirements are essential for success in this role.
  • Previous correctional/detention facility experience

Licenses/Certifications

  • Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
  • Current (and must maintain) lifesaving ACLS certification through AHA
