Job Description
Compensation: $21.85 to $32.78 an hour - paid weekly
Quality Lead Shift Available: Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm (E-Shift)
Quality Lead - Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Manage an already established Quality Management System (QMS), provide well-written updates on a continual basis, and recommend improvements, and/or a new implementation when needed.
  • Perform safety observations and prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures, with the primary focus on quality tasks, yet not limited.
  • Ensure maintenance of the programs within the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with Product Food Safety. Examples: Prerequisite Programs, Master Cleaning, HACCP, etc.
  • Coordinate 3rd Party product testing for key customers and provide documentation of what is required to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for the administration of the Calibration Program, this will require updates to the internal documentation, scheduling, and timely procurement of calibration services.
  • Responsible for scheduling GMP audits, leading audits, documenting, and distributing final reports based on the results of the audits and in accordance with the 3rd party programs (BRCGS, RBI, GFSI) and OPX 360.
  • Drives activities in preparation for the external regulatory audits (BRCGS, RBI, GFSI).
  • Assist in the review and audit requirement improvement of the process audits within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Owns, plans, and conducts Trace Exercises involving multidisciplinary teams and documents findings.
  • Report to plant supervision any departure(s) from compliance related to plant-wide documentation.
  • Manages the disposition of products and provides oversight of nonconforming product withdrawal, destruction, and/or rework.
  • Conduct inventory control of the internal quality hold product returns and communicate final disposition.
  • When requested, report any process errors, product failures, non-conformities, and deviations to supervisor(s) and/or Unit Manager(s). Compile detailed reports.
  • Manage customer complaints database, including calls to the stores and closing complaints.
  • Constructs Quality Alerts and quality "Talking Points" with the information provided and communicates to all involved parties.
  • Trains production teams and leaders on the quality systems, leads/conducts the new hire orientation in relation to quality topics, quality monthly review training, and any other training that is needed.
  • Maintains Quality Associates Skill Matrix.

Required Education and Experience:
  • College degree is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 5-10 years of experience in a quality function within a production environment.
  • Food Service industry quality auditing is preferred. GMP acumen.
  • Excellent writing skills that will include writing reports, business correspondence, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and team-building skills.
  • Microsoft Office, Statistical Software, and some programming experience. Statistical methods and Process improvement techniques (SPC.) Knowledge of manufacturing lab practices and test procedures.
  • Maintain the ability to work a flexible schedule to support improvement efforts across shifts for brief periods of time during projects.
