Job description

The Sr. Manager, QMS Program is responsible for developing, standardizing, deploying, and maintaining the enterprise-wide Quality Management System (QMS) framework across all Malibu Boats Inc. brands and business units. This role serves as the backbone—or "spine"—of the organization’s quality infrastructure, ensuring structural consistency across systems, phases, processes, deployment methodologies, and training programs. The Sr. Manager partners closely with cross-functional leaders to ensure the QMS is robust, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

QMS Framework & Standardization

  • Design, develop, and maintain the enterprise QMS framework, ensuring consistency and alignment across all Malibu Boats Inc. brands and business units.
  • Define and standardize phase-gate processes, quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation standards enterprise-wide.
  • Establish and govern a centralized document control system to manage QMS policies, procedures, and records.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements.

Deployment & Implementation

  • Lead the strategic deployment of QMS processes and systems across all facilities and business units.
  • Develop and execute implementation roadmaps, timelines, and milestone tracking for QMS rollouts.
  • Partner with site-level quality leaders to ensure successful adoption and sustainability of QMS standards.
  • Identify and resolve barriers to effective QMS deployment, driving continuous alignment and improvement.

Training & Capability Building

  • Design and deliver comprehensive QMS training curriculum for all levels of the organization.
  • Develop training materials, e-learning modules, and reference guides to support QMS understanding and compliance.
  • Assess training effectiveness and continuously improve programs based on feedback and audit findings.
  • Coach and mentor quality professionals and cross-functional teams on QMS principles and best practices.

Audit & Compliance

  • Plan and lead internal QMS audits across all brands and business units to assess compliance and effectiveness.
  • Manage audit findings, corrective actions, and follow-up activities to ensure timely closure and sustained improvement.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external QMS audits and certifications.
  • Monitor and report on QMS performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and other functions to integrate QMS requirements into business processes.
  • Communicate QMS goals, updates, and results to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate cross-functional forums and working groups to drive QMS alignment and best practice

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in quality management systems, quality engineering, or related roles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Deep knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 standards; Lead Auditor certification preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or CQA (Certified Quality Auditor) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in QMS design, deployment, and standardization across multiple sites or business units.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, training, and facilitation abilities.
