Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inspector to support municipal infrastructure projects by conducting field inspections and ensuring compliance with approved plans, specifications, and contract requirements.

This role plays a key part in maintaining quality, safety, and adherence to construction standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Conduct field inspections of construction sites
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents and technical requirements
  • Verify materials meet project specifications
  • Confirm proper notification to residents in affected areas
  • Issue correction notices and may serve violation citations
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
  • Research and evaluate plans and drawings
  • Prepare and submit technical reports
Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Up to 18 months of education or training in inspection or related field preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of journey-level experience in inspection or related field
Preferred Certifications (may be required within 11 months)
  • Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, or Occupancy Inspection Certifications
  • ICBO, IAPMO, IAEA, or equivalent certifications
  • QEI Elevator Inspector Certification (if applicable)
