Job description

At Kraton, we make a Positive Difference, and we are looking for individuals who are also looking to make a difference in their jobs, for our customers and to the world. We are looking to hire a key member of our Operations team at our Belpre, Ohio location.
The Control Systems Inspector (CSI) will report administratively to the Instrument Manager and Discipline Focal Point at the Belpre site. Primary unit supported will be G1.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure mechanical integrity of the control systems in UT.
  • Maintain PCS, ECS, MCS, and QCS integrity and documentation.
  • Daily technical support to the UT manufacturing unit including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Control systems retrofit and re-instrumentation projects support as needed.
  • Audit and maintain control systems engineering standards.
  • Management of change activities - leading and technical assurance review.
  • Ensure use of appropriate hardware.
  • Identify control systems reliability improvement areas.
  • Support unit Turnaround and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Audit control systems and develop obsolescence plans.
  • Train and mentor IE Technicians as needed.
  • Back-fill for other CSI as needed (ex: vacation coverage).

Required Skills
  • Field instrument expertise - automated valves, transmitters, measurement, etc.
  • 5-15 years experience in process control/instrumentation.
  • Team leadership skills including Team Building, Self-Initiative, Planning, Customer Focus, and Flexibility.
  • Knowledgeable of Loop checks, Loop tuning, and Loop Sheets.
  • Knowledgeable of DCS systems, PLC's, and Safety Instrumented Systems hardware.

Qualifications/experience (desired):
  • Modicon PLC programming.
  • Allen-Bradley PLC programming

Education, Certifications & Licenses
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Some discipline specific certifications may be desirable.
