Job Purpose: We are seeking a skilled Quality Technician for our first shift to perform precision mechanical inspections on manufactured components. This role requires hand on experience in CMM operation, manual inspection techniques ("hard checks"), and a deep knowledge of GD&T for inspecting sheet metal, laser cut, and welded parts.
Key Responsibilities Conduct first article, incoming, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts, sheet metal, and welded assemblies. Perform precise dimensional inspections (hard check) using manual tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and CMMs. Interpret complex engineering drawings, applying expert knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
Good hand-on experience to operate CMMs (Zeiss or Brown & Sharpe or Mitutoyo) to verify parts against specifications. Document and report all inspection results and non-conformances accurately in the quality management system. Perform receiving inspection on incoming materials and components (raw materials and outside services).
Qualifications & Skills Minimum 2-4 years of quality control inspection in a manufacturing environment (SMT experience, electronics manufacturing, final inspection and soldering experience). Demonstrated knowledge on full SMT flow High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification is a plus or AA degree preferred Final QCB (Final Quality Control Board) - experience in this last inspection stage of an assembly line FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) - experience in this comprehensive documentation package Manual Inspection: Proficient with surface plate inspection and all standard hand-held measuring tools. This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
