Position Summary
The Quality Control Manager administers the project quality program on a data center construction project, developing inspection and test plans, managing the nonconformance process, and confirming that installed work meets the contract documents and manufacturer requirements prior to commissioning. This role works closely with the superintendent, MEP trade partners, and commissioning agent to keep quality documentation complete and defensible for owner turnover.
This is a field-based position supporting construction projects in North Louisiana, Virginia, and Corpus Christi, Texas. Project assignments and reporting locations will vary based on operational needs. Travel and/or temporary relocation may be required.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the project quality control plan, including inspection and test plans (ITPs) for civil, structural, architectural, and MEP scopes.
  • Conduct field inspections and document inspection test records (ITRs) for critical installations, including foundations, structural steel, electrical terminations, and mechanical piping.
  • Manage the nonconformance report (NCR) process, including identification, root cause tracking, corrective action, and closeout verification.
  • Coordinate quality requirements for commissioning readiness, including pre-functional checklists and system turnover packages.
  • Review subcontractor quality control plans and confirm compliance with project specifications and manufacturer installation requirements.
  • Maintain the master punch list and track completion of corrective work through final closeout.
  • Lead quality control meetings with subcontractors and maintain quality metrics for the project executive team.
  • Compile quality documentation, including ITRs, NCRs, and test reports, for the project closeout and turnover package.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of quality control experience on commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of inspection and test plan development and nonconformance management.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with quality documentation and reporting software.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience on a data center or other mission-critical construction project.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, including pre-functional and functional testing requirements.
  • Quality certification such as Certified Quality Manager or an equivalent construction quality credential.

Work Environment
Full-time presence on an active construction site, including data halls, mechanical and electrical yards, and rooftops during inspections. Requires the ability to walk the full site throughout the day, climb ladders and stairs, and wear standard personal protective equipment.
