Job description

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Develop expertise in asphalt sample collection and preparation, asphalt testing and reporting/recording of test results. Out of specification or questionable test results will be immediately brought to the attention of your supervisor.
  2. Be familiar with test methods, material specifications and schedule of tests as outlined in the Albina Asphalt Quality Control Manual.
  3. Prepare samples for shipping.
  4. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab equipment according to established procedures and file appropriate documentation.
  5. General housekeeping duties as required to maintain a first-class industry laboratory.
  6. Prepare reports as directed for distribution to upper management and/or specifying agencies.
  7. Assist with maintaining products at their established production target values to minimize product cost while maintaining compliance to the product specifications.
  8. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Willing, with the help of the company, acquire and maintain proper certifications and licensure.
  3. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
