Job description

Overview

The Quality Control Technician II will support the testing and documentation needs of the Quality Control Department during the manufacture and release of Bio-Rad control products. This position will work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.

3rd Shift Work Hours: after 5pm to 1:30am Mon-Fri.

How You'll Make An Impact:

  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot QC laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance and reliable test results.
  • Adhere to good laboratory practices (GLP), established quality standards, and company policies to maintain compliance and data integrity.
  • Manage laboratory inventory by ordering supplies and reagents as needed while coordinating and maintaining instrument preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments to support quality objectives, resolve issues, and facilitate efficient workflows.
  • Review and evaluate assay runs for accuracy, consistency and compliance with Quality Control procedures and specifications.
  • Accurately document and enter test results into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) as required.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Associate's degree or higher in a science field or equivalent clinical lab experience
  • Work Experience: 3+ years working in QC or a clinical laboratory
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Quality Systems and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Experience in the use of clinical laboratory techniques and equipment. Experience in running chemistry, hematology, and immunoassay analyzers a plus.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required. Experience with a LIS is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy of data.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, remain flexible, manage time effectively and work independently.

Location: This position must be based in Irvine, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The estimated hourly rate for this position is $27.40 to $37.74 per hour, at the time of posting.  Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of the offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon the achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
