Their role is crucial in delivering reliable and high-quality software products.

What are some common challenges QA Test Managers face when coordinating cross-functional testing efforts?

QA Test Managers often encounter challenges such as aligning testing schedules across multiple teams, managing conflicting priorities, and maintaining clear communication channels between developers, testers, and business stakeholders. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for managing teams and collaborating with stakeholders. These skills are crucial for ensuring high-quality software delivery, efficient team performance, and successful project outcomes.

Is a QA Test Manager a stressful job?

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and execute comprehensive testing across all domains including configuration, security, workflow, integration, reporting, migration, and non-functional resilience.

  • Maintain and demonstrate clear links from contract requirements to design components, test cases, and final results to ensure traceability.

  • Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), manage evidence collection, and coordinate with organization leads to ensure business and operational acceptance.

Job description

Lentech is seeking a high-Performance, multi-disciplinary team to lead a technical implementation of a Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform-based case management system (CMS).  This mission-critical project and CMS supports legal services to children in support of the U.S. Government.  U.S. Citizenship is required along with the ability to positively pass a public trust background investigation.
The primary implementation timeline occurs across the first 180 days of the project and moves into steady state operations for the remainder of the first year.  A five-year follow-on contract is expected based on positive performance in the first year.  The implementation follows an aggressive timeline divided into four key phases: Mobilization, Core Operations, Fully Functional Delivery, and Steady-state Operations.
This effort demands a collaborative team capable of maintaining operational continuity throughout the transition and into operations.  You will be working with a primary legal team providing the CMS to the lawyers working each individual case.  Candidates must be prepared to handle high-velocity delivery, strict data privilege boundaries, and the technical rigor required to support vulnerable populations.

Role Overview: The QA/Test Lead position is responsible for the overall quality strategy and managing the all test areas defined in the project’s Test Matrix. The lead ensures that all releases meet the project’s "evidence-based acceptance" mandate, where completion is defined not by effort, but by the delivery of objective work products that pass contractual and technical exit criteria.
Core Responsibilities:
  • End-to-End Test Management: Plan and execute comprehensive testing across all domains, including configuration, security, workflow, integration, reporting, migration, and non-functional resilience.
  • Continuous Traceability: Maintain and demonstrate clear links from contract requirements (RTM rows) to design components, backlog items, test cases, and final results.
  • Defect Governance: Enforce strict defect rules; Severity 1 defects (contractual non-compliance or data loss) block any release, while Severity 2 defects block go-live unless a formal waiver is approved.
  • UAT Coordination: Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), managing the collection of evidence and working with Organization leads to ensure business and operational acceptance.
  • Automated Testing Strategy: Lead the implementation of automated testing within Azure DevOps to validate the required automations, core configurations, and the system's "reversible adapter" integration architecture.
  • Evidence Collection: Ensure no work product is marked "accepted" until the specific evidence identified in the Test Matrix or Document Register is delivered and approved.
Key Test Domains & Coverage:
  • Configuration & Rules: Validating the deadline and service-level engine using known-answer cases for various contract clocks (e.g., 10-business-day service clocks, 24-hour notifications).
  • Security & Privilege: Testing least-privilege roles, LSP organizational isolation, and the "default-deny" privilege boundary protecting attorney work product.
  • Integration & Exchange: Managing mock and live contract tests for  interfaces to ensure repeatability, retries, and accurate exports.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Required 6+ years experience
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must hold a PUBLIC TRUST or be eligible
  • Dynamics 365 & Power Platform Expertise: Extensive experience in automated testing specifically for Dataverse, model-driven apps, and Power Pages.
  • Azure DevOps & CI/CD: Proficiency in building and maintaining automated testing pipelines within a structured ALM environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with C# and JavaScript for extending the platform and testing complex custom logic and adapters.
  • High-Compliance Experience: Proven track record in high-compliance environments (e.g., GCC, NIST SP 800-53) where objective evidence is required for every release gate.
  • Professional Certifications:
  • ISTQB Certification (International Software Testing Qualifications Board).
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate (PL-200) or Developer Associate (PL-400).
Project Context: The QA/Test Lead must account for peak activity during the Core Operational Release and full operational release. Success is achieved when the Organization can operate the solution independently, supported by a system with no undocumented components or outstanding non-compliance defects.
