Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mission Critical Electrical Training Instructor to deliver practical, competency-based workforce training for electrical craft professionals and front-line leaders supporting hyperscale data center construction projects.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned electrical construction, commissioning, or mission-critical infrastructure professional with extensive field experience in complex, high-reliability environments. This individual will translate technical standards, project requirements, and real-world field experience into highly practical, task-based training focused on safe execution, installation quality, Human Performance, commissioning readiness, and long-term facility reliability.
This is not a traditional lecture-based instructor role. The Lead Instructor will facilitate hands-on laboratories, field-based scenarios, practical demonstrations, quality reviews, and competency assessments designed to sharpen the skills and judgment of experienced craft professionals. The successful candidate must possess the technical credibility and communication skills necessary to effectively train and coach electricians, foremen, general foremen, supervisors, and construction leaders.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver practical, task-based training focused on mission-critical electrical construction, safety, quality, and data center readiness.
• Facilitate training in electrical safety, hazardous energy control, Lockout/Tagout, Human Performance, low-voltage installation quality, inspection, and commissioning readiness.
• Lead hands-on laboratories, equipment demonstrations, field-based scenarios, quality reviews, and practical exercises.
• Translate complex technical requirements, project standards, and procedures into clear, practical instruction for experienced skilled-trades professionals.
• Evaluate participant competency through direct observation, practical demonstrations, scenario-based exercises, documentation reviews, and skills assessments.
• Provide targeted coaching, feedback, and remediation to participants requiring additional skill development.
• Reinforce Human Performance principles, including peer checks, three-way communication, questioning attitude, procedure use and adherence, conservative decision-making, and Stop Work Authority.
• Coach craft professionals and front-line leaders on the relationship between field execution, documentation quality, commissioning outcomes, and long-term facility reliability.
• Support continuous improvement of training materials based on project lessons learned, quality findings, commissioning observations, and evolving workforce needs.
• Collaborate with project safety, quality, commissioning, construction, and workforce leadership teams to maintain alignment with project-specific requirements.
• Maintain a practical, professional training environment that reflects the safety, quality, and operational discipline expected in hyperscale data center construction.
Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical construction, commissioning, or mission-critical infrastructure, with significant field-based responsibility.
• Direct experience supporting hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, semiconductor facilities, advanced manufacturing, power generation, or similarly complex high-reliability environments.
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout, hazardous energy control, and electrical safe work practices.
• Demonstrated technical knowledge of low-voltage electrical installation and termination practices, including conductor preparation, torque verification, calibrated tooling, labeling, documentation, and inspection readiness.
• Working knowledge of medium-voltage systems, cable preparation, terminations, stress control, shielding, grounding, testing, and energization readiness.
• Experience with electrical QA/QC, inspection processes, non-conformance identification, corrective action, turnover documentation, and first-pass quality expectations.
• Familiarity with commissioning, startup, Method of Procedure reviews, point-to-point verification, continuity testing, test documentation, and energization readiness.
• Demonstrated ability to lead hands-on laboratories, technical demonstrations, field-based scenarios, and competency assessments.
• Experience training, coaching, or leading journey-level craft professionals, foremen, general foremen, supervisors, or construction leaders.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to establish credibility with an experienced skilled-trades audience.
• Demonstrated commitment to Human Performance principles and the ability to reinforce Stop Work Authority, questioning attitude, peer checks, three-way communication, procedure use and adherence, and conservative decision-making.
Preferred Credentials and Experience
• Journeyman or Master Electrician background, or equivalent documented electrical craft experience.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 training or experience, where applicable.
• NFPA 70E training and demonstrated electrical safety expertise.
• Qualified Electrical Worker experience consistent with applicable employer, project, and regulatory requirements.
• Electrical commissioning, QA/QC, startup, or energization experience.
• Direct hyperscale data center construction experience.
• Prior experience as a superintendent, general foreman, electrical commissioning professional, QA/QC leader, electrical training professional, or mission-critical operations leader.
• Medium-voltage cable termination or manufacturer-specific training.
• NCCER instructor certification, apprenticeship instructor experience, craft training experience, or equivalent adult technical education experience.
• Train-the-trainer, Human Performance, or operational excellence facilitation experience.

Training Environment
Training is delivered through a highly applied instructional model emphasizing approximately 30% facilitated instruction and 70% hands-on, task-based practice. The Lead Instructor will work in a modular training center environment supporting practical laboratories, realistic field scenarios, skills validation, coaching, and competency assessment.
Training content spans mission-critical data center foundations, hazardous energy control and Lockout/Tagout, low-voltage installation excellence, electrical quality and inspection, commissioning and energization readiness, Human Performance, and front-line electrical oversight. Program completion is based on demonstrated competency rather than attendance alone.
