Job description

Job Title: QA/QC Inspector – Biopharmaceutical ConstructionJob Description

This role supports a major biopharmaceutical construction project in Lebanon, Indiana, focusing on high‑purity process piping, welding inspection, and quality oversight in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment. You will perform detailed weld and process piping inspections, ensure strict compliance with corporate SOPs, client requirements, and industry codes, and maintain accurate, FDA-compliant documentation. The position offers extensive overtime, exposure to cutting-edge pharmaceutical manufacturing, and the opportunity to build long-term expertise in high-purity process systems and validation practices.

Responsibilities
  • Perform QA/QC inspections on process piping and welding activities throughout fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Conduct detailed weld inspections and verify compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards.
  • Review, prepare, and maintain quality records, inspection reports, and turnover documentation in accordance with FDA-regulated documentation practices.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate SOPs, client quality requirements, and relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Verify adherence to piping and equipment codes, project standards, and site specifications, including process piping and high-purity piping requirements.
  • Identify non-conformances, document findings, and communicate required corrective actions to project stakeholders.
  • Interface proactively with welders, subcontractors, craft labor, project teams, and client representatives to resolve quality issues.
  • Support internal and external quality audits, documentation reviews, and quality program assessments.
  • Navigate and interpret applicable codes and specifications to confirm compliance for welding and process piping activities.
  • Assist with material inspections and receiving inspections to ensure materials meet project and code requirements.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate, and traceable inspection and quality records to support turnover and validation activities.
  • Support project teams during fabrication, installation, and commissioning by providing quality guidance and oversight.
  • Contribute to QA/QC program implementation, documentation control, and quality reporting for the project.
  • Apply pharmaceutical validation practices and validation protocols to inspection and documentation activities where applicable.
  • Utilize P&IDs and mechanical and piping documentation to verify installation and inspection scope.
  • Uphold company and project quality standards under pressure and communicate difficult quality findings in a professional manner.
Essential Skills
  • Non-union Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification and/or ASNT Level II certification.
  • At least 2+ years of QA/QC, weld inspection, quality inspection, or closely related experience.
  • Hands-on welding inspection experience in an industrial or construction environment.
  • Ability to interpret and navigate codes, specifications, and quality standards, including process piping and high-purity piping requirements.
  • Strong documentation skills with experience following FDA documentation standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to corporate SOP compliance requirements.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience in biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical manufacturing, semiconductor, or food and beverage manufacturing quality environments.
  • Proficiency in welding inspection, QA/QC programs, documentation control, and quality reporting.
  • Ability to work onsite in an industrial construction setting and perform field inspections.
  • Ability and willingness to work significant overtime as project demands increase.
  • Strong attention to detail, professional accountability, and a high level of accuracy in inspection records.

Work Environment

The work involves regular field presence, interaction with craft labor and subcontractors, and close collaboration with project teams and client representatives. Pay and Benefits
