Quality Assurance Representative

ย  Program(s): MSD-V4R/V4L and FireCon Pro

Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented QAR is responsible for ensuring program products, processes, records, and deliverables comply with contractual requirements, Government quality requirements, applicable regulatory requirements, and the SPS Quality Management System (QMS), including ISO 9001:2015 requirements. The QAR provides onsite quality oversight for MSD V4R/V4L and FireCon Pro operations and serves as a primary quality interface supporting Program Management, Operations, Contracts, suppliers, DCMA, ACC, and Government customers. The QAR supports quality planning, production and final inspection, configuration integrity, Government acceptance readiness, nonconformance management, continuous improvement, and Return to Manufacturer (RMA) activities. The position supports SPS operations at 2013 Cox Avenue and 101 Electronics Blvd in Huntsville, Alabama, and other program locations as required.

Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Quality Planning
o Define and maintain program quality objectives, standards, inspection criteria, and acceptance requirements consistent with the contract, approved quality plans, and work instructions.
o Develop and maintain inspection and test plans for finished products and production processes.
o Ensure required work instructions, control plans, and checklists are established, compliant, and effective in achieving first-pass quality outcomes.
o Implement QA controls to verify QC processes remain stable.
โ€ข QMS Effectiveness and Independent Quality Oversight
o Serve as the Program onsite QMS representative and coordinate directly with the SPS Quality Manager.
o Verify QC functions and production processes are compliant, documented, and effective.
o Conduct internal audits, inspections, and random in-process production audits against Government requirements, program work instructions, and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
o Exercise authority to place product or processes on quality hold when contractual, configuration, inspection, traceability, or workmanship requirements are not satisfied, and coordinate disposition with Program Management and the SPS Quality Manager.
โ€ข Product Sampling and Inspection
o Establish and execute product sampling processes in accordance with contractually applicable Government sampling requirements, approved quality plans, and procedures.
o Classify and document deficiencies in accordance with applicable contract, quality-plan, and inspection criteria.
o Perform in-process and final inspections and document objective evidence of conformity.
โ€ข Configuration Management
o Ensure configuration items are correctly identified, controlled, and traceable.
o Verify reviews, approvals, and configuration changes are completed and incorporated as required.
o Maintain records that accurately reflect โ€œas-designedโ€ and โ€œas-builtโ€ configuration-card data, and UID/IUID information, where applicable, against approved program documentation.
o Track approved modifications, deviations, waivers, ECPs, and configuration updates against contract requirements in coordination with Program Management, subcontractors, and the SPS Quality Manager.
โ€ข Documentation, Traceability, and CDRL Support
o Maintain quality records in an audit-ready condition for internal, customer, and Government review.
o Prepare and submit Final Inspection Reports and other required quality documentation through established program and Contracts channels.
o Fully support the MSD PM in completion of required CDRLS. At a minimum, CDRL A027, A033, and A034 require submission through the PM to Contracts Manager.
o Maintain a current quality continuity package identifying open NCRs/CAPAs, pending inspections and Government actions, calibration status, supplier-quality issues, WAWF status, and other critical quality due-outs.
โ€ข Packaging and Preservation
o Verify compliance with packaging, marking, and preservation requirements.
o Verify serial numbers, labels, UID/IUID data, configuration records, and shipment documentation are accurate and traceable before Government inspection or shipment.
o Prepare products and objective quality evidence for Government source inspection, sell-off, conditional acceptance, and final acceptance.
o Perform final inspections and sampling in accordance with approved MSD and FireCon quality processes.
โ€ข Nonconformity, Corrective Action, and Continuous Improvement
o Lead internal audit programs such as the Process Evaluation and Assessment Report (PEAR), manage Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
o Conduct structured root-cause analysis, verify effectiveness, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
o Qualify, monitor, and drive supplier performance, including supplier CAPA as required.
o Identify and segregate nonconforming materials/products.
โ€ข Training
o Support Project Management in training operators and staff in quality standards and inspection procedures.
o Promote a culture of quality awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement across supported programs.
โ€ข Vendors and Suppliers Quality
o Facilitate vendor and supplier quality performance expectations and evaluations.
o Ensure supplier performance requirements are communicated, tracked, documented, and reported.
o Coordinate supplier issues with Program Management, VP Programs, Corporate QM, and Contracts Department for resolution.
โ€ข World-Wide Workflow (WAWF) Reporting
o Oversee and support project WAWF Invoicing and Receiving Report activities in accordance with the contract and approved quality process.
o Prepare, validate, and, when authorized, submit required QA-related closeout and acceptance documentation.
o Validate MIL-PAC Shipper, Receiving Report, and UID/IUID information and support transfer of required data into the WAWF system.
o Coordinate discrepancies affecting WAWF, Government acceptance, or payment with the PM, Contracts, DCMA/ACC, and other responsible parties.
โ€ข RMA and Warranty Quality Support
o Maintain traceability and quality documentation for RMA/warranty items and coordinate disposition with Program Management, suppliers, and Government stakeholders as applicable.
o Track recurring failure trends and elevate systemic quality concerns for corrective action.
โ€ข Supervisory Channels
o Administrative Supervisor is the VP Operations.
o Functional Quality Authority: SPS Quality Manager.
o Program Execution Support: MSD and FireCon Pro Program Manager(s).
o Maintain sufficient independence in quality decisions to ensure product conformity and Government acceptance requirements are protected.
โ€ข Other Duties as Assigned

Education and Qualifications:
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical, quality, logistics, manufacturing, or military education/training preferred.
โ€ข 6 years of experience in warehouse quality control, preferably in a military or DoD contractor environment with military supply systems.
โ€ข Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015; experience with AS9100 quality-system principles is preferred.
โ€ข Strong attention to detail, organization, written communication, and records-management skills.
โ€ข Ability to read and interpret contracts, drawings, Bills of Material, work instructions, inspection criteria, and technical documentation.
โ€ข Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
โ€ข Computer technical abilities are required.
โ€ข Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. An active secret clearance is preferred.
โ€ข U.S. Citizenship (required for positions involving government property or security clearance).
โ€ข OSHA or quality control certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector, Certified Quality Auditor, or equivalent) is a plus.
โ€ข DOD Logistics knowledge is a plus.
