Description Overview

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our 1st shift team at our Oral Care Plant located in Kentwood, MI.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8am-4pm

  • Associates at this job level are fully competent to perform all the required functions in either the Incoming Inspection or Quality Assurance area without oversight. An associate in this role will be assigned to one of two areas of responsibility: 
  • Quality Assurance (QA): Production support involving the sampling, inspection, and disposition of manufactured materials
Scope of the Role
  • Follow company SOPs and Forms and execute them as written. 
  • Basic understanding of risk profiles Perrigo product lines and their use by the consumer. 
  • Visually inspect parts and use various measuring tools - e.g., digital calipers, micrometers, rulers, etc. 
  • Document inspection results and determine material disposition. 
  • Process nonconforming materials: 
  • Create nonconforming material records 
  • Segregate and label nonconforming material 
  • Communicate nonconforming material record to stakeholders 
  • Assist with sampling / inspecting nonconforming product for investigations 
  • Other duties as requested by management. 
  • Support effective implementation of all GMP requirements and understand how it affect products/processes supported and/or owned.

Quality Assurance 

  • Support Operations by reviewing potential nonconforming product and providing guidance. 
  • Effectively navigate ambiguity for potentially nonconforming product, appropriately seeking assistance where the risk is high. 
  • Review production orders and release product. 
Experience Required
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required 
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral work instructions in English, such as safety, quality, and GMP guidelines 
  • Oral and written communication skills 
  • Working knowledge of ERP system in use (thorough knowledge of how to enter material movements, holds, and dispositions). Training provided for specifics associated with AX ERP system. Knowledge of SAP a plus. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
