Job description

Job Purpose:

The Customer Quality Engineer serves as the interface between the manufacturing or development teams and the end-users, ensuring that products meet or exceed customer expectations in terms of quality and reliability. This role involves a deep dive into both the technical aspects of product development and the nuanced expectations of customers, facilitating a smooth feedback loop that informs continuous improvement processes. By analyzing product performance data and customer feedback, the Customer Quality Engineer identifies trends and areas for enhancement, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that elevate the overall user experience. This position not only ensures that current products maintain the highest quality standards but also contributes to the development of future products by integrating customer insights into the design and manufacturing phases.


Customer Quality Engineer Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer quality role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
  • Six Sigma and Lean methodologies
    • APQP PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA & CP experience a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiar with AS9100/ISO9001/AS9102 FAIR and internal auditing preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality assurance principles and methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Customer Quality Engineer Responsibilities & Duties

  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding product quality, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Facilitate the return of defective products for analysis and work with the production team to implement fixes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence of customer issues
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure quality standards are met during the production process.
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics for tracking and reporting to stakeholders on product quality performance.
  • Conduct regular product and process audits to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Collect and analyze customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in quality assurance and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail. General office and clean room environment. Frequent exposure to computers and manufacturing areas that includes noise, fumes and exposure to chemical substances.
