Quality Assurance Corporate Coordinator

Job Brief

The Quality Assurance Corporate Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring company-wide compliance with food safety and regulatory standards while supporting the continuous improvement of Ole’s Quality and Food Safety Systems. This position is responsible for monitoring adherence to customer specifications and regulatory requirements, including FDA and labeling guidelines, USDA, PMO, GFSI-BRC, and local health authorities. In addition to maintaining compliance, the role focuses on strengthening and improving performance within the Quality Management System through ongoing process development and optimization.

This role collaborates cross-functionally with plant employees, plant and regional leadership, and corporate management, while also serving as a point of contact for external partners including raw material suppliers, regulatory agencies, inspectors, and co-packers. The position provides direct supervision to supervisors, leads, and line technicians, and indirect oversight of technician support and sanitation personnel, helping drive a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Responsibilities

Ensures by keeping updates to compliance to Food Safety Regulatory Requirements Ensures highly disciplined compliance with all regulatory and Company.

Defines and support food safety and sanitation standards, systems, procedures, and practices to guarantee product safety.

Must be familiar with the Quality Management System.

Reviews processing activities to ensure conformance to specifications.

Assures that products are being produced in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s Part 110.0 & 117.0)

Must be familiar with Food Safety Plan/cHACCP.

Investigates and communicate to the Q.A manager all food safety issues.

Responsible for assessing the training needs of the QA team, making sure that training is adequately performed and documented.

Reviews and update work aids (instructions, charts, manuals, bulletins, code date calendars, etc.) essential for verification of product quality.

Participates in food safety and sanitation audits.

Conducts monthly team meetings to address employee issues.

Verifies department’s standard operating procedures complies with BRC and/or regulatory requirements such as Customer specifications, FDA, Labeling Guidelines, USDA, PMO, GFSI-BRC and Health department).

Assists in special projects and generates summary of projects’ performance.

Assumes the duties of Lead Auditor and Qualified Individual (FSMA).

Communicates effectively with the Q.A managers/Director, department employees, Plant management, regional management, Ole’s management, and suppliers. 15. Implement and manage systems for Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Data stewardship and governance, and regulatory audits and surveillance

Perform other duties as assigned.

Analyzing company processes and procedures.

Developing process enhancement strategies.

Investigating shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes.

Participate in QA Compliance initiatives to drive greater collaboration and standardization between all divisions and copackers QA teams.

Update, communicate and deploy Corporate Policies and/or documents to facilitate and/or raw material suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure that process inputs meet Ole Requirements.

Responsible on coordinating and maintain the Ole Mexican Foods Corporate Document Control System (Quality Procedures, Plans, flow process, work instructions, etc...)

Assist QA Director in the development of QA policies and procedures new items and ensure that they are properly deployed to the plants and/or raw material suppliers and contract manufacturers.

Support and collaborate with special studies in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Director.

Coordinate meetings with QA rep. at plants to brainstorm and improve Mock Recall Corporate Program at least once per year.

Responsible to monitor QA KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators). Review data to ensure that critical-to-quality attributes are meeting Ole’s requirements.

Assist QA Director on consumer complaints to benchmark and track consumer complaint index internally and externally.

Coordinate implementation of corrective action for out-of-compliance conditions by corporate.

Coordinate GFSI Plants Audits. Responsible on controlling and updating BRC’s structural documentations.

Responsible on Control, update and deploy Supplier Approval Program

Coordinate with suppliers and/or Purchasing corporate on any updated raw material documentation

Communicate with Raw Material Suppliers and Contract Manufacturers to ensure that process inputs meet Ole Requirements.

Give Direction to QA system person to maintain and administer the Raw Materials and Finished Product Specifications Central Database

Coordinate and communicate Pest control management at Atlanta Tortilla Division & DC location.

Ensure, when necessary, information for physical and chemical attributes, and microbiological are accurate within finish product specifications database.

Coordinate efforts with departments related to new products and/or existing products changes information with efficiency, accuracy, and level of service

Establish regular meetings with Marketing team regarding product information on the webpage and being aligned with specs database.


Requirements and Skills

Bilingual (Spanish-English) REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in baking, Food Science, Chemistry, or related science required.

Knowledge of statistics preferred.

Courses in Quality Assurance concepts desirable.

Experience in GFSI. (GFSI) BRC preferred.

Experience in ISO-9002 or similar preferred.


5 years’ experience in food manufacturing, Process Management, process optimization, operations,

2 to 3 years working experience in a tortilla, bakery, or food plant.

Knowledge of Genesis Software – ESHA labeling compliance.

2 years working experience in Regulatory n food (FDA, USDA, PMO, Organic, Gluten Free, etc.)

Must have good communication skills.

Savvy in most common office software
