Job description

This position reports directly to the Supervisor, IT Quality Assurance - Technical Testing. The Quality Assurance Automation Tester is responsible for Automated testing activities for large and complex software applications. The ideal candidate is skilled in different testing methodologies, has the ability to interpret testing scope into tangible test scripts and have the ability to problem solve and remove obstacles that prevent testing progress.  The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical,  analytical and communication skills. Strong knowledge of procedures and methodologies in the areas of Quality Assurance and Test Automation   would be a requirement. The Quality Assurance Automation Tester assures that the Automated testing supports the validation of software application according to the test cases. 
THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL 

  • Create automated test scripts based on test cases, pre-conditions and data setup requirements. 
  • Update and maintain Object libraries and Automation Framework components. 
  • Maintain the automated test scripts for various applications. 
  • Debug and deliver fully functional automated test scripts. 
  • Mentor and support Quality Assurance testers in executing automated test scripts. 
  • Create test cases based on detail requirements documentation for all types of testing methods 
  • Provide input in the creation of test plans based on detail requirements documentation for all types of testing methods  
  • Execute test cases using both manual and automated testing tools  
  • Create and maintain test scripts for data setup and manipulation 
  • Document defects related to testing completed 
  • Participate in defect triage meetings 
  • Participate in root cause defect analysis 
  • Attend and participate in project meetings  
  • Ensure established testing processes are followed  
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of testing documentation 
  • Provide time estimates for testing assignments 
  • Track and report on testing process metrics 
  • Participate in requirement review sessions and provide relevant feedback 
  • Provide inputs to the Automation test strategy for each project to the supervisor/manager  
  • Contribute to the improvement and advancement of Automation QA practices
