They work closely with production, development, and compliance teams to make sure that products meet required standards and regulations. Their tasks often include reviewing documentation, conducting audits, and reporting on quality metrics. QA Associates play a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance in industries such as pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and software.

Job description

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2-days a week at our office located in Downtown, Toronto.

About TripArc

TripArc builds and operates the technology platform that powers travel agencies and advisor networks across North America. Our platform is complex, our pace is fast, and quality assurance sits at the heart of everything we deliver.

We're looking for a Senior QA/QA Analyst to join our team in a hands-on senior individual contributor role. This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about test automation, quality engineering, and software testing craftsmanship while mentoring other QA professionals.

As the Senior QA Analyst, you will own the automation strategy within your delivery pod by designing and maintaining Playwright/TypeScript automation frameworks, executing deep manual and exploratory testing, and helping establish a high technical standard across the QA team. You'll work closely with Developers, Product Owners, and the QA Manager while providing mentorship and guidance to QA Analysts.

The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on expertise with Playwright and TypeScript-the primary automation framework used across the team-not simply experience with multiple testing tools. You'll also be comfortable incorporating Claude or comparable AI-assisted development and testing tools into your daily workflow to improve efficiency and testing quality.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation (Playwright & TypeScript)

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright and TypeScript.
  • Own the automation architecture for your product area, including page objects, reusable utilities, fixtures, test data management, and reporting.
  • Continuously expand automation coverage across UI, API, regression, and end-to-end testing.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast, reliable feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot failed automated tests and distinguish product defects from automation or environment issues.
  • Continuously improve automation maintainability, scalability, and reliability.

AI-Assisted Quality Engineering

  • Use company-approved AI tools, including Claude, to accelerate test case creation, automation development, code review, and defect investigation.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment when validating AI-generated code and test coverage.
  • Share effective AI-assisted testing practices and workflows across the QA team.

Manual & Exploratory Testing

  • Perform detailed manual and exploratory testing for complex functionality and scenarios not yet automated.
  • Create well-structured test plans and test cases using Xray.
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, system, and exploratory testing.
  • Perform API testing using Postman and validate application data through SQL queries.
  • Document defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps, environment details, and expected versus actual results.

Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Partner closely with Developers, Product Owners, and the QA Manager to define quality strategy early in the development lifecycle.
  • Review test cases and automation contributions from QA Analysts while providing coaching and technical mentorship.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness discussions, representing the QA perspective.
  • Assess quality risks and communicate recommendations clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with significant ownership of test automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript (required).
  • Experience designing and maintaining UI and API automation frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of automation architecture, design patterns, reusable test frameworks, fixtures, page objects, and test data management.
  • Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience testing REST APIs using tools such as Postman.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience using Git, pull requests, branching strategies, and source control workflows.
  • Experience working with Jira, Confluence, Xray, or similar Agile delivery tools.
  • Strong understanding of Agile software delivery methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Strong defect investigation and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience using Claude or comparable AI-assisted development and testing tools as part of the testing and automation workflow.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Assets

  • Experience with Selenium WebDriver or other automation frameworks.
  • Experience working within travel technology, booking platforms, or other complex distributed software ecosystems.
  • Experience working across multi-pod Agile delivery teams.
  • Previous experience mentoring or coaching QA Analysts.

We provide a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. Employees have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and compensation tied to business and individual performance. The expected base compensation range for this position is: $80,000 to $90,000.

The actual compensation may vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. #LI-Hybrid
