Senior IT Architect (Team Lead) โ€“ Q Clearance Required

Summary:
We are seeking a Senior IT Architect (Team Lead) to serve as a senior technical authority responsible for designing and guiding complex information technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software architecture, systems integration, requirements analysis, project leadership, and technology strategy. This role will lead architectural efforts from concept through development and production, ensuring solutions align with business requirements, technical standards, security requirements, quality standards, and project schedules. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, technical teams, management, and other stakeholders to evaluate alternatives, resolve complex integration challenges, and deliver scalable IT solutions.

Location:
Washington, DC or Gaithersburg, MD

Salary:
Up to $245,000, depending on qualifications, including relevant certifications, education, years of experience, and demonstrated experience supporting Federal Government programs within the field. Candidates with specialized expertise, industry-recognized certifications, and strong Federal contracting experience may be considered at the higher end of the range.

Clearance:
Active Q Clearance Required

Education:
Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited university or college in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience designing and developing new software solutions or performing extensive software revisions for customers.
  • Experience serving as a senior-level technical expert responsible for developing high-level architectural specifications.
  • Experience addressing complex systems integration, interoperability, compatibility, and technical architecture challenges.
  • Experience conducting technical research and evaluating project feasibility, technology options, and architectural alternatives for management.
  • Experience gathering and analyzing customer requirements and translating them into technical and architectural solutions.
  • Experience analyzing IT project costs and developing alternatives analysis to support technical and business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, evaluate, prototype, and present architectural approaches for information technology and systems, including software, hardware, infrastructure, and business processes.
  • Experience establishing project schedules, assigning responsibilities, monitoring progress, and communicating project status.
  • Experience coordinating and providing technical oversight for projects to ensure successful completion within established schedules and deadlines.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, technical teams, management, and other departments.
  • Experience coordinating development, beta, and production releases that meet quality assurance standards.
  • Experience leading source control management and supporting automated testing and continuous integration throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with change management, release management, configuration management, and software lifecycle management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
  • ITIL 4 Foundation or higher
