Job description

This opportunity is for a travel pharmacist position in a 25-bed critical access hospital in Wisconsin. The hospital serves a diverse patient population including emergency, labor and delivery, and medical-surgical units. You will provide pharmaceutical care with an average daily census of 10-12 patients. The electronic medical records system in use is Cerner, and medication dispensing is managed via Pyxis.
Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medications accurately and safely to patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams in the ER, L&D, and medical-surgical units.
  • Manage medication distribution through Pyxis automated systems.
  • Review physician orders for appropriateness and interactions.
  • Provide clinical interventions and patient counseling as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
  • Licensed pharmacist with current state licensure.
  • Experience working in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR and Pyxis automation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced hospital environment.
Schedule/Hours:
  • 7 days on / 7 days off rotation.
  • Monday-Friday: 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
