Job description

Overview

As a GIS Analyst for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Pittsburgh, PA office, you will provide technical and analytical support for our diverse consulting practices. You will work closely with project managers, scientists, and field personnel to develop GIS data sets, exhibits, and web maps along with managing data across several project disciplines, such as environmental, ecological, and solid waste. You'll gather, analyze, and integrate GPS data collected by field staff and unmanned aerial vehicle units and conduct spatial analysis utilizing various sources including aerial imagery, elevation models, and landcover data. You will also create data collection forms, compute environmental impacts, design and update GIS databases, and assist application development teams for ESRI based workflows and web applications. You may also assist CEC staff in GPS operation and environmental data collection in the field.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or related degree
  • Previous internship experience required or 1+ experience using GIS technology in a professional setting
  • Full knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS version 10.x products, including Basic, Standard, and Advanced
  • Full knowledge of geodatabase creation and data management in ArcCatalog
  • Desire to work in a potentially fast paced environment, while maintaining scheduled tasks, troubleshooting issues, and developing solutions
  • Experience managing and completing post processing of GPS data
  • Experience in field data collection using Trimble GPS units
  • Experience with programming and scripting (Python, Shell, VB, Javascript). Familiarity with ArcGIS Server
  • Experience with ESRI's SDE, SQL Server, or other relational databases
