Job Title: Database Scientist Location: Kansas City MO Certification Requirement: CompTIA Security (CE) or willing to get one once offered Security Clearance Requirement: Active Secret or above or willing to get one once offered Database Scientist Roles and Responsibilities: The ISB Database Scientist is responsible for the design, build, automation, support, security, management, and optimization of databases, such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server on Windows or Linux Servers. Databases may be developed in house, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), or Government off-the-shelf (GOTS). * Design, develop, enhance, and support new and existing dashboards/visualizations using Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, Python.

* Implement analytical approaches that require knowledge of MS office suite (excel, word, ppt, project, etc.) and statistical programming languages, including but not limited to Qlik, Tableau, R, .Net, and Python. * Supervise algorithm implementation in Cloud computing environments. * Collect and normalize data, analyze, and present results of enterprise, portfolio, programmatic and budgetary information utilizing descriptive and/or predictive models.

* Dashboard development of a disparate data sources to support planning, programming, budget, and execution decisions. * Employ a variety of analytic techniques, (e.g. engineering build-up, analogy, parametric and extrapolation from actuals) while leveraging subject matter expertise to inform visualizations and metrics.

* Conduct and implement statistical analysis to identify trends, probabilities that visualize data related to military hierarchies. * Create or develop data architecture with analysis based on sound data and knowledge of information systems and design. * Analyze a variety of data sources to provide data-driven insights to the organizations to streamline processes.

* Apply decision theory and portfolio analysis to inform strategic resourcing decisions. * Apply database query languages to retrieving data from authoritative databases. * Develop web-portals for project management and collaboration.

* Develop formulas and/ or scripts extracting information from a variety of data formats (e.g., SQL tables, structured metadata, network logs) * Develop code and software to generate analysis, reports and visualizations summarizing data sets and providing data driven insights. * Utilize scientific methods and data science developing of mathematical models of problem areas in forms of one of several equations to evaluate and predict the ability to support assigned programs, studies, or problems. * Provide advice and guidance for leadership and program officials to define data requirements for structured and unstructured data sources to better deliver integrated data to use in a variety of analytical software tools, including but not limited to statistical analysis, geospatial software, visualization software, and natural language processing software.

* Use analytic tools to combine, analyze, and interpret very large and complex datasets to perform exploratory analyses and develop data-informed organizational solutions. Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of the effectiveness of data science proposals and solutions to provide findings, conclusions, and recommendations to technical and program staff. * Gather, assemble, and analyze authoritative and non-authoritative data, draw conclusions, develop, and utilize appropriate data collection techniques and data normalization to produce valid and reliable findings and analysis, provide recommended solutions, and package the entire process in briefings, documents, information papers or reports suitable for top management use and decision-making.

* Provide technical guidance, advisory support, and assistance on an entire project and/or major phases for broad and varied operations. Minimum Required Experience: * 8 Years' Experience with BI Development * 8 Years' Experience with Tableau Development(Qlik, Cognos, Sisense, etc... are a plus) * 8 Years' experience in any of the following Database Systems in an Enterprise Datacenter: * Oracle * Microsoft SQL * MySQL * NoSQL * Python * Knowledge of a wide range of operation research techniques, qualitative and/or quantitative methods and analyses used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define solutions and recommend alternatives.
