THE POSITION

The Clinical Analytics Engineer designs, maintains, and improves analytic pipelines, dashboards, and clinical quality reporting products that support operational and strategic decision-making. This role works across R and Python-based data workflows, develops and maintains Shiny and Qlik applications, and partners closely with clinical quality leaders and other stakeholders to ensure reports are accurate, useful, and responsive to evolving business and regulatory needs. The ideal candidate combines strong technical implementation skills with the ability to translate reporting requirements into reliable, maintainable analytics solutions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Design, develop, maintain, and improve analytic pipelines, data transformations, and reporting workflows that support clinical analytics, operational reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot recurring operational, clinical, and quality reports using SQL, R, Python, and related reporting tools.

  • Build, enhance, and support dashboards and interactive analytics applications, including Shiny, Qlik, and similar platforms, for clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders.

  • Maintain, update, and validate clinical quality reports, including changes to measure definitions, business logic, and stakeholder reporting requirements.

  • Partner with clinical quality leaders and other stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify metric definitions, and translate business needs into scalable, maintainable analytics solutions.

  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and consistency across reports, dashboards, and analytic workflows through validation, discrepancy investigation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

  • Perform ad hoc analyses and communicate findings, trends, anomalies, and technical logic in clear, actionable terms for clinical and administrative audiences.

  • Document data sources, transformation logic, and report specifications, and support testing, deployment, maintenance, and operational use of analytics and reporting products.

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION OF WORK

This is a remote role, with occasional in-person meetings. Candidates in the Kansas City, Missouri region are preferred; candidates near Nashville, Tennessee may also be considered.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Health Informatics, Statistics, Public Health, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data engineering, or a related technical role.

  • Experience working with SQL and at least one programming language such as R or Python for data analysis, reporting, or workflow automation.

  • Experience developing, maintaining, or supporting dashboards, reports, or other analytics products for business, operational, or clinical stakeholders.

  • Experience working with complex datasets and translating stakeholder needs into clear, accurate, and maintainable reporting outputs.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, refine definitions, and support reporting or analytics needs.
