Job description

Role and Scope of Position:
This position plays a critical role in supporting Eversource's Integrated Planning & Scheduling (IPS) organization by ensuring a strong alignment between business processes and the information systems that support them. The role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing Power BI dashboards, automating reporting processes, and delivering data-driven insights that support the Electric Operations organization.
This position participates in the review and assessment of business area processes to recommend changes to improve operational performance, address deficiencies, or meet emergent needs. It works closely with business area managers to translate broad business objectives into meaningful requirements and collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement system integration solutions and reporting tools. This includes supporting Planning & Scheduling and the Electric Operations organization through both routine work and special projects.
Essential Functions:
  • Power BI Development & Maintenance:
    • Build and maintain dashboards for operational metrics, project tracking, and compliance.
    • Develop paginated reports and automate subscriptions for recurring reports.
    • Troubleshoot and optimize Power BI refresh schedules and gateway connections.
  • Data Integration & Modeling:
    • Connect and transform data from Maximo, P6, PowerPlan, Workday, Workforce, iTOA, Cascade and other industry tools.
    • Maintain and enhance SQL views, stored procedures, and data pipelines in our Integrated DataMart.
    • Support the transition of legacy systems to modern data sources.
  • Operational Reporting & Support:
    • Deliver weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports for stakeholders across Integrated Planning & Scheduling and Electric Operations.
    • Support the development of Work Plan slides, Gap Analysis, and Contractor Performance Summaries.
    • Collaborate with end-users to validate data and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Process Automation & Documentation:
    • Use tools like Python, Power Automate, and Excel VBA or others to streamline manual processes.
    • Maintain the IPS Report Catalog and Analytics Request Tracker.
    • Create and update how-to guides, documentation, and training materials.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work closely with IPS Managers, Directors, and Analysts to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.
    • Present findings and updates in staff meetings and executive briefings.
    • Provide end-user support and training for Power BI tools and reports.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Requires knowledge of technical modeling techniques, business assessment and modeling tools and best practices.
  • Requires high-level understanding of the organization's business systems and processes as well as industry-wide requirements.
  • Requires high proficiency in relationship management, verbal and written communications, meeting facilitation, multitasking, time and prioritization management.
  • Requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and Power BI Service.

    • Experience working with enterprise systems such as Maximo, P6, PowerPlan, Workday, and iTOA.
