Software Engineer – Full Stack (Python/web framework)

About the Opportunity

A leading global financial technology and market infrastructure company is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join its Foreign Exchange (FX) and Fixed Income technology team.

This team develops highly available, mission-critical web applications that support the operational needs of electronic trading platforms. Engineers work closely with operations, business stakeholders, and technology teams to build scalable internal applications, reporting tools, monitoring systems, and workflow automation that support global trading operations.

This position follows a hybrid schedule with four days per week in the New York City office.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain highly available full-stack web applications supporting electronic trading platforms.
  • Build intuitive web interfaces for market monitoring, platform administration, client configuration, and internal operational workflows.
  • Design and optimize relational database schemas using PostgreSQL.
  • Develop reporting and business intelligence tools that provide actionable operational insights.
  • Build automated monitoring, alerting, and health-check systems for production environments.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following software engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with business users and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Document applications, architecture, and operational procedures.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar) to improve software quality and developer productivity.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience.
