Job Summary
Aretum is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Python Developer. As a Senior Python Developer, you will assist in leading the integration of a custom application with other client based systems.
Due to the nature of our work as a federal consulting organization, employees may be expected to handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and must adhere to applicable safeguarding and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Work cross-functionally in an Agile environment
  • Build FastAPIs for the display of content
  • Create microservices
  • Work on front-end and back-end code
  • Mentor peers and junior developers in Python design
  • Build ETL processes
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Juggle multiple tasks at once
  • Work independently and collaboratively as needed
  • Utilize interpersonal skills and strong communication skills
  • Work directly with the Project Manager to support emerging client needs

Requirements
  • 8+ years of solid Python development experience
  • 8+ years of overall (OOP) programming experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (or 2 additional years of experience)
  • API development and integration experience
  • Experience with Microservices
  • Experience with JavaScript and JQuery
  • Experience with Search engines, such as Solr or Elasticsearch
  • Experience designing and developing enterprise Web and Search systems
  • Experience with enterprise database technologies, such as Postgres and MySQL
  • Experience building and managing container technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Comfortable with working with open source-based solutions
  • Familiar with enterprise use of Python
  • Expert in continuous integration/continuous delivery solutions
  • Experience with large-scale AWS based solutions and Terraform
  • Agile environment experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering or related field
  • Experience with the federal government
  • Experience with FastAPIs (Highly preferred)

Travel Requirements
This is a remote position; however, occasional travel may be required based on project needs, client meetings, team collaboration events, or training sessions. Travel is expected to be less than 10% and will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
