Job Title: Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract

Work Schedule

This is a hybrid position with a rotating onsite/remote schedule:

  • Team A works onsite Thursday and Friday, and remotely Monday through Wednesday.
  • Team B follows the opposite schedule.
  • The teams rotate weekly.
Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, develop, and maintain robust test automation solutions across UI, API, and backend services. The ideal candidate will have strong automation experience, excellent programming skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality software in an Agile environment.

Required Qualifications
  • 5 7 years of experience in software testing and test automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience automating UI and API testing using Java, JavaScript, C#, or Python.
  • Experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, Postman, Karate, or ReadyAPI.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming (Java/C#) and scripting languages (Python, Shell, Bash, Perl).
  • Experience testing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
  • Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using frameworks such as Cucumber or JBehave.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases, along with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and container technologies, including AWS, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience building automation frameworks from scratch using design patterns such as Page Object Model (POM).
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, SAFe, XP).
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI.
  • Experience with source code management tools such as GitHub, GitLab, or AWS CodeCommit.
  • Experience generating automation reports using tools like Cucumber Reports or Extent Reports.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and collaborate effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the travel or airline industry.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation using Docker, Terraform, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Knowledge of AWS services including EC2, S3, CodePipeline, and CloudFormation.
  • Experience with service virtualization tools such as WireMock or Mockito.
  • Familiarity with test management tools such as qTest or VersionOne.
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms including Docker and OpenShift.
  • Experience with non-functional testing including performance, load, stress, security, accessibility, and usability testing.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test solutions for web applications and services.
  • Develop automation strategies for UI, API, functional, integration, and performance testing.
  • Build and maintain scalable automation frameworks and reusable test libraries.
  • Design and implement end-to-end automated testing for major application features.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
  • Participate in design reviews and code inspections.
  • Identify process improvements and develop tools to enhance quality, efficiency, and delivery speed.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Support Agile development practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure software quality across frontend, backend, and distributed systems.
