Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automation QA Architect to own and drive the overall QA automation strategy for a new UI-based ISO Portal application.

The candidate will be responsible for defining the automation roadmap, framework architecture, coding standards, reusable components, governance, CI/CD integration, and overall automation quality. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Selenium and experience leading enterprise-scale QA automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the overall QA automation strategy across sprint and release cycles.
  • Define the automation roadmap, framework standards, coding guidelines, reusable components, and governance model.
  • Evaluate and implement Playwright and/or Selenium based on project requirements and automation feasibility.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Development Leads, and QA stakeholders.
  • Understand business requirements, acceptance criteria, and overall quality objectives.
  • Identify automation opportunities by evaluating test cases based on feasibility, business criticality, stability, priority, and regression value.
  • Architect scalable, maintainable, and reusable automation frameworks.
  • Support automation for UI, functional, smoke, regression, and release validation testing.
  • Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines for scheduled, on-demand, and release-based execution.
  • Define quality gates and automation metrics, including test pass thresholds, defect leakage, regression health, and execution results.
  • Monitor automation coverage, execution trends, defect trends, and overall quality metrics.
  • Prepare and present QA automation status reports to GPC and Cognizant stakeholders.
  • Establish automation best practices and mentor QA engineers on framework usage and coding standards.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve test coverage, execution speed, reliability, and maintainability.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience in QA Automation Architecture and Strategy.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Selenium.
  • Experience designing and implementing reusable automation frameworks.
  • Strong experience with UI, functional, smoke, regression, and API testing.
  • Experience integrating automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong understanding of test automation governance and quality metrics.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with enterprise development and QA teams.
  • Ability to work onsite in Atlanta, GA.
