Role: Python Software Engineer
Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)
MOI: 1st round virtual, 2nd round F2F.
We are looking for a strong Software Engineer III to join the Global Markets UI Horizontal team to help drive the AI Forward Engineering program.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and enhancing next-generation enterprise applications that leverage modern UI frameworks, real-time data processing, and AI-driven capabilities. This includes developing user interfaces using React/Next.js as well as backend services using Python-based frameworks to support scalable, low-latency systems.
The role will focus on building AI-enabled applications using LLMs, agent-based workflows, and conversational systems, while also improving existing business-critical applications across trading, analytics, and reporting systems. The candidate will work closely with global development teams and front office stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance solutions.

Required Qualifications
Core Engineering
• Strong experience across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
• Proven Full Stack Development experience across UI and backend systems
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
• Ability to work across global teams and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
UI Development
• Hands-on experience with:
• React.js / Next.js / ES6+
• Modern UI frameworks (TailwindCSS or equivalent)
• Experience building real-time UI applications using WebSockets or similar technologies
• Exposure to desktop-based UI environments such as OpenFin / Electron
• Ability to design scalable, performant, and reusable UI components
Backend & API Development
• Strong programming experience in Python
• Hands-on experience building REST APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or similar
• Experience working with:
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Microservices-based architectures
• Event-driven systems (Kafka / messaging platforms)
AI / LLM & Agent Development
• Experience developing AI-powered applications using:
• LangChain / LlamaIndex
• Agent frameworks (tool-calling, multi-agent workflows)
• RAG architectures (vector databases, embeddings, retrieval systems)
• Experience or familiarity with:
• Rasa (CALM) conversational systems
• LLM-based application development and orchestration
• Exposure to Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar tool integration frameworks
• Understanding of prompt engineering and context-driven AI workflows
DevOps & Platform
• Working knowledge of:
• OpenShift / Kubernetes environments
• CI/CD pipelines (CodeBuild, CDK, or similar tools)
• Experience with containerized application deployment and configuration management
