Job Duties and Responsibilities

EchoStar is seeking a motivated and inquisitive Junior Agentic AI Engineer to join the AI team. Under the guidance of senior engineers, this role focuses on learning and supporting the team to design, build, and bring to production enterprise-grade AI solutions and autonomous multi-agent systems. The position plays a supporting role in developing scalable generative AI products that drive measurable business impact by translating complex workflows into resilient architectures and leveraging advanced agentic AI techniques to revolutionize the entertainment industry.

What Success Looks Like (Objectives):

  • Support the design and development of autonomous AI services and multi-agent workflows alongside senior team members
  • Assist in the implementation of open communication protocol integrations (MCP and A2A) for agent coordination and task delegation
  • Participate in the architecture of hybrid control flows, state machines, and graphs under supervision to manage multi-step reasoning
  • Integrate secure tool execution environments, utilizing sandboxed execution contexts and strict egress controls to ensure runtime safety
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical agent specifications and scalable microservices
Skills, Experience and Requirements

Core Skills and Competencies (What you’ll bring):

  • Strong coding foundations in Python and exposure to backend frameworks such as FastAPI
  • Understanding of or exposure to cloud-based foundation model platforms, like AWS Bedrock
  • Familiarity with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure including Docker, EKS, and GitLab CI/CD
  • Active AI literacy and eagerness to master modern orchestration frameworks and standard agentic communication protocols
  • Collaborative problem solving and ability to translate business requirements into technical agent specifications
  • 1-2 years of software development or data science experience with foundational knowledge in LLM-powered systems

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with agent interoperability and communication standards, including MCP and A2A protocol
  • Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen
  • Familiarity with agent deployment platforms and infrastructure hosting like Bedrock AgentCore or equivalent production-grade hosting environments
  • Familiarity with big data platforms and distributed systems for large-scale context processing

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field
  • Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of experience in software development or data science
  • Required Technical Skills: Must have at least 1 year of experience with:
    • Python
    • LLM-powered systems or backend frameworks
