Job description

We are making the world a more walkable place. Through intuitive personal mobility, we make walking faster, more efficient, and more accessible, empowering people to choose walking over sitting in traffic.
Our flagship product, Moonwalkers, are the world's fastest robotic shoes, augmenting natural walking with intelligent locomotion assistance. By giving people the ability to Moonwalk, we believe the path toward a more human-scale future can be reached on your own two feet.
We are covered in Wired, CNET, Gizomodo, PCMag and many other tech press.
Requirements
We are building the next generation of Moonwalkers and are looking for engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments where hardware, software, and human motion intersect. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our engineering teams by designing the internal tools, automated pipelines, and testing interfaces that power our mobility solutions. You will be the bridge that ensures our software development, building, and deployment processes are as efficient and innovative as the hardware we create.
Responsibilities
  • GUI & Internal Applications: Design and develop intuitive Linux GUI applications and POS-style tablet interfaces. Leverage modern frameworks (such as PySide6/Qt6, Tauri, Flutter, or modern web-based UI wrappers) to build tools that directly support internal operations, test frameworks, and production-line testing workflows.
  • Log Analysis & Data Processing: Extract, transform, and analyze system and hardware logs on Linux environments. Build robust data processing pipelines utilizing advanced file operations and modern, high-performance data processing libraries (e.g., Polars, Pandas) to parse complex datasets, generate status reports, and surface actionable insights.
  • R&D Toolchain & CI/CD Support: Maintain standardized embedded compilation environments (CMake, Keil, Matlab) to ensure reproducible builds across teams. Develop and maintain the operational health of CI/CD Runners (Docker/Shell executors), and actively troubleshoot pipeline errors to ensure smooth automated workflows.
  • Automation & Workflow Integration: Write robust Python or Shell scripts to eliminate manual work (e.g., automated log archiving, auto-version tagging, firmware packaging). Create scripts utilizing Webhooks/REST APIs to push build failures and system alerts from GitLab/GitHub to instant messaging tools (Slack/Teams).
  • Infrastructure & Network Maintenance: Maintain R&D Linux servers by performing regular system updates, security hardening, and performance monitoring. Assist in managing KVM virtual machines and NAS backup systems to ensure high data security and availability.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in Full Stack Development, DevOps, or Toolchain Engineering.
  • OS Administration: Proficiency in standard Linux command-line operations and system administration.
  • Python, Data & GUI: Strong proficiency in Python. Must have hands-on experience with modern GUI development and diverse data processing techniques (e.g., structured/unstructured log parsing, data pipelines, or high-speed dataframe operations using Pandas/Polars).
  • CI/CD Fundamentals: Strong understanding of CI/CD pipeline concepts and hands-on experience with modern tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable reading complex technical documentation and collaborating cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Modern Toolchains: Familiarity with Docker containerized builds and modern CI/CD orchestration.
  • Networking: Basic understanding and configuration experience with modern secure networking, such as Tailscale, WireGuard, or zero-trust network architectures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working alongside embedded software engineers or hardware teams.
  • AI Tooling Fluency: Proven ability to use LLMs and AI coding assistants to enhance daily productivity, write boilerplate, and navigate unfamiliar technical domains with confidence.

Benefits
  • Opportunities for participation in our Employee Options programs
  • 401K retirement plan
  • Excellent medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions), and Paid Holidays
  • Massive Growth Opportunities and a long-term career
  • Casual and comfortable work environment
