Python Go Developer information

What is a Python Go developer?

Python Go Developers are software engineers who specialize in writing and maintaining applications using both the Python and Go (Golang) programming languages. These professionals leverage the strengths of both languages—Python for rapid development and scripting, and Go for high-performance, concurrent backend services. Their work often involves building scalable web applications, APIs, or microservices, integrating systems, and optimizing performance. Employers value Python Go Developers for their versatility and ability to choose the best tool for each task.

What do Python Go developers do?

Python Go Developers often split their time based on the specific requirements of a project—using Python for tasks like scripting, automation, or rapid prototyping, and Go for building high-performance backend services or microservices. Collaboration with other team members is common, as developers may integrate Python components with Go-based systems, requiring effective communication and code documentation. Staying adaptable and comfortable context-switching between languages is key, and most teams encourage continuous learning to keep skills sharp in both ecosystems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Python Go developer?

To thrive as a Python Go Developer, you need strong proficiency in both Python and Go programming languages, experience with software development life cycles, and often a relevant degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with frameworks (such as Flask or Gin), RESTful APIs, version control systems like Git, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is typically expected. Effective problem-solving, teamwork, and strong communication skills help developers collaborate and adapt to evolving project needs. Mastery of these skills ensures efficient delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions in dynamic technical environments.

What is the difference between Python Go Developer vs Java Developer?

We are seeking a Senior Linux Platform Engineer to join our Systems Platform Engineer team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and improving our highly automated Linux-based systems and platforms while supporting our broader technology infrastructure with a focus on automation. You'll be working collaboratively with our technology and operations teams to ensure the highest levels of system performance, security, and availability.
Your responsibilities will be:
  • Managing and improving our Linux-based infrastructure with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Designing, deploying, and maintaining on-premises Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads.

  • Developing and maintaining system-level software, middleware, and APIs to support internal platforms and services.

  • Automating system workflows and infrastructure tasks using Python, Bash, and configuration management tools like SaltStack.

  • Building and maintaining RPM packages and internal software repositories.

  • Collaborating with Application Support (SRE), Development, and Security teams to ensure secure, automated CI/CD and platform integration.

  • Diagnosing and resolving complex system-level issues involving the OS, network, or container runtime.

  • Implementing hardened security configurations, including system hardening, secure communications, and identity/access integration.

  • Participating in an on-call rotation to support critical infrastructure services.

  • Documenting architectures, tools, and operational processes to support long-term maintainability.

The ideal candidate has
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration and infrastructure/platform engineering.

  • Production experience managing Kubernetes, preferably in bare-metal or on-premises environments (e.g., with kubeadm, RKE, or OpenShift).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) in production environments.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills in Python and Bash.

  • In-depth knowledge of Linux internals, kernel tuning, and performance diagnostics.

  • Hands-on experience with SaltStack (preferred), Puppet, or Ansible for configuration management.

  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Loki.

  • Solid understanding of core infrastructure protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, NTP/PTP, DHCP, etc.).

  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

You'll really stand out with:
  • Certifications such as RHCE or LFCE.

  • Experience with container runtimes (containerd, Docker) and registry management.

  • Knowledge of GitOps workflows or tools like ArgoCD or Flux.

  • Background in security best practices and compliance (e.g., CIS benchmarks, STIGs).

  • Prior experience in highly regulated or low-latency environments.
