Job description

The Denver Broncos are one of the most popular franchises in all of sports. Whether judged by the measure of wins and championships, attendance, national television exposure or by the Broncos' reputation locally and throughout the NFL, there are few parallels in the world of professional sports. We are dedicated to being the best team to cheer for, play for, and work for across all of sports. We are looking for employees who are passionate about what they do, have fun doing it, and proud to represent the Denver Broncos Football Club and Empower Field at Mile High.
Job Summary: The Denver Broncos are seeking an experienced Senior Network Administrator to lead the delivery of secure, resilient, and high-performing network services across the Stadium, Training Center, and corporate environments. This role is critical to supporting a large-scale, high-density network infrastructure that enables football operations, business functions, and the fan experience.
You will be responsible for designing, operating, and evolving the organization's network infrastructure to meet the demands of a professional sports environment, including game days and large-scale live events where performance, reliability, and availability are essential.
This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, operational leadership, and sound judgment. You will partner closely with Systems Administration, Cybersecurity, and Game Technology teams to ensure a highly available and scalable network environment that supports both day-to-day operations and mission-critical, real-time events.
The Senior Network Administrator serves as a technical leader and escalation point for complex network challenges, helping drive continuous improvement, modern network practices, and long-term architecture strategy.
This position reports to the Senior IT Director and is a full-time, onsite role based in Englewood/Denver, CO.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the design, implementation, and operation of the organization's network infrastructure across stadium, training facility, and corporate environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance
  • Architect and operate high-density network environments capable of supporting tens of thousands of concurrent users, with a focus on WiFi performance, fan experience, and operational reliability
  • Lead network operations for mission-critical, real-time environments, including game days and live events, where uptime and performance directly impact football operations, venue operations, and fan engagement
  • Design and maintain highly available network architectures, including multi-ISP connectivity, BGP routing, and redundancy/failover strategies
  • Implement and mature network observability practices, including telemetry, flow analysis, and end-to-end performance monitoring, to proactively detect and resolve issues
  • Develop and maintain network automation and infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Python, Ansible, APIs) to improve consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency
  • Integrate and support hybrid network environments, including connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS, VPN, private connectivity)
  • Support emerging stadium technologies, including IoT systems, IPTV/video distribution, and potential private wireless (e.g., CBRS/5G), to enhance operational capabilities and fan experience
  • Partner with Cybersecurity teams to implement segmentation, Zero Trust principles, and secure access controls across all environments
  • Serve as the technical escalation lead for complex network incidents, driving rapid troubleshooting and resolution during high-impact events
  • Manage and optimize relationships with ISPs, carriers, and network vendors to ensure resilient and high-performing connectivity
  • Oversee network infrastructure lifecycle, including cabling/data plant, hardware standards, capacity planning, and upgrades
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and standards to support operational excellence and knowledge sharing
  • Other duties as assigned to support a football-first culture

Required Experience & Skills
  • 7+ years of experience in network engineering, administration, or related roles in complex enterprise environments
  • Proven experience designing, operating, and supporting large-scale, high-density network environments (e.g., stadiums, arenas, large campuses, or similar environments with 25k+ concurrent users)
  • Strong hands-on expertise in enterprise networking, including switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, and VPN technologies
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, real-time operations where system availability and performance are essential
  • Experience designing and maintaining highly available network architectures, including redundancy, failover strategies, and multi-ISP connectivity (e.g., BGP)
  • Hands-on experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Python, Ansible, APIs)
  • Experience with network monitoring, observability, and performance optimization in complex environments
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, including segmentation, NAC, and secure remote access
  • Experience supporting hybrid network environments, including integration with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead diagnosis and resolution of complex network issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams

  • Experience with high-density WiFi design, RF optimization, and large-scale wireless deployments
  • Experience supporting live events, sports environments, broadcast operations, or other high-visibility, real-time environments
  • Experience with modern network observability platforms (e.g., telemetry, flow analysis, synthetic monitoring)
  • Experience managing carrier relationships and designing multi-provider network architectures
