Job Summary
We are looking for an Investment Systems Analyst (ISA) to provide solution support of Investment systems and related processes that directly support decision making for business teams. As a member of an Investments Technology and Data, the ISA partners with other ISAs and engineers to maintain the production environment according to the business needs, interfacing between Portfolio Managers, Traders, Research Analysts, Operations team, and market data vendors as needed.
The ISA applies business knowledge, systems analysis, and business analysis skills to the day-to-day core work as well as initiative work assigned to the team. ISAs grow their contribution to Thrivent by increasing and applying their business and technical knowledge and experience.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide front-line process and system support for assigned business staff, systems, and processes.
  • Partner with Engineering teams and other ISAs to improve the reliability and effectiveness of investment systems and data solutions.
  • Interface regularly with internal customers to understand business needs, priorities and changing workflows.
  • Support the successful movement and integrity of key data through complex systems and processes.
  • Partner with Investment Technology, Data and Operations teams to help reinforce system and process standards throughout the investment department.
  • Participate in initiatives that implement new or enhanced processes, systems, and/or data visualizations, contributing to requirements, planning, testing and execution activities
  • Serve as a liaison to Engineering teams for and the support, enhancement and maintenance of assigned systems.
  • Build working relationships with external peers and vendors to stay current on technology capabilities and industry trends.
  • Partner with Reporting Analysts and Engineers to provide effective reports and develop efficient reporting methods.

Job Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in the asset management industry; with experience in an Investment Systems Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or other similar position.
  • Experience with Aladdin or similar Portfolio Management systems.
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience communicating effectively with portfolio managers, operations, IT, and market solution providers.
  • Ability to learn and understand the investment business and related processes.
  • Customer focus, strong sense of urgency, thrives on getting things done.
  • Deliver quality, accurate outcomes utilizing all tools, systems, methods, resources available.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; while remaining open minded.
  • Teamwork approach demonstrated by daily interaction and collaboration with peers and stakeholders.
  • Continuous improvement mindset regarding execution, data quality, business process, and operational risk.

Preferred
  • Exposure to portfolio accounting or investment data platforms.
  • Industry certifications preferred (CFA / CIPM / MBA or in progress preferred).
  • Experience with scripting or analytical tools such as R or Python and SQL/Snowflake.
  • Experience with FactSet and Bloomberg.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income securities and benchmarks

Additional Information
  • This position requires you to work on-site in Minneapolis, MN a minimum of three days a week.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $77,478.00 - $104,823.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
