Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support new product development (NPD) through CAE simulations, including CFD and FEA. Responsibilities include axial and centrifugal fan design, internal flow path development, and structural integrity and durability.
  • Support the Advanced Engineering team in the research and development of new to market products and technology.
  • Perform and develop techniques for multi-physics simulations including conjugate heat transfer analysis, spray atomization, and aeroacoustics.
  • Perform optimization and sensitivity analyses through design of experiments (DOE) and meta-modeling.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in topics related CFD including RANS and scale resolving models.
  • Develop reduced order plant models (ROM) to predict mechanical and thermal system performance using MATLAB, Simscape, Python, or similar languages.
  • Perform measurements including sound, vibration, fan performance, vacuum performance, and pressure loss coefficients.
  • Maintain current knowledge of developments in the field to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company products.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace) or a related engineering field with 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling (NX, SolidWorks or other commercial code).
  • Proficiency in a computational language (MatLab, Simscape, Simulink, Python, Fortran, C, C++, or VB)
  • Relevant work experience includes but is not limited to:
    • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation
    • Simulation of compressible and incompressible flow fields using RANS and scale resolving techniques.
    • Multiphysics simulations including CHT, DPM, electromagnetics, aeroacoustics, and FSI
    • Simulation of multi-phase flow fields
    • System modeling in Matlab, Simscape, Simulink, Python, or other computational language
    • Laboratory testing and data acquisition including but not limited to sound, vibration, temperature, pressure, flow rate, torque, power, etc.
  • International and domestic travel not required
  • Position requires on-site work a minimum of 3 days per week.
