As a Software Engineer Lead within PNC's Technology - Automation & Platform organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, Strongsville, OH, or Birmingham, AL.
As a Software Engineer Lead, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Lead end-to-end Automation and Document AI initiatives, from solution design to production deployment.
- Architect and develop AI-powered document processing solutions (classification, extraction, validation).
- Drive adoption of best practices in coding, CI/CD, code quality, and security (e.g., SonarQube).
- Design and implement scalable, cloud-native applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift (OCP).
- Collaborate closely with business, product, and architecture teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to automation and AI engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with banking, lending, and regulatory standards.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging tools and technologies in automation, GenAI, and Document AI.
Candidates must have the following proficiencies:
Programming Languages & Frameworks
- Python (expert level)
- Django or similar Python web frameworks
- JavaScript (for UI integration or frontend orchestration)
Tools & Platforms
- PyCharm (or equivalent Python IDE)
- Sonar / SonarQube for code quality and security scanning
- OpenShift (OCP) / Kubernetes for containerized deployments
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
Architecture & Automation
- Strong understanding of automation architecture, microservices-based systems, and APIs
- Experience building document-centric automation solutions (PDFs, forms, statements, applications)
Databases
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar)
