Nexaminds is looking for a Tech Lead – Backend Engineering to lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable cloud-native backend solutions. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Java, Python, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with proven experience leading engineering teams, defining technical architecture, and delivering high-performance distributed systems. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on backend engineering, AI integration, application security, and engineering excellence, while mentoring developers and driving adoption of AI-assisted development practices.

Location: Cincinnati, OH (Onsite)

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Technical Leadership: 7–10+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering, with at least 1–2+ years leading teams, mentoring developers, and making critical architectural decisions.
  • Core Stack Mastery: Deep backend expertise in both Java and Python (key to success) alongside advanced knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architectures.
  • Data & AI Integration: Production experience designing robust data pipelines and integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) or AI/ML components into backend systems.
  • Modern Tooling: Hands-on experience championing AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot to maximize team efficiency and maintain clean code standards.
  • Application Security (AppSec): A proactive security mindset with experience identifying, prioritizing, and guiding teams to remediate complex codebase and dependency vulnerabilities.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution, aligning seamlessly with product, data science, and security teams.
