Job Summary:

As the GIS Developer, you will ultimately be responsible for developing and supporting enterprise GIS applications, building scalable geospatial solutions, and automating GIS workflows. You will design, develop, and maintain ESRI-based web applications, enterprise integrations, and spatial data solutions while delivering reliable, secure, and high-performing GIS systems. As the GIS Developer, your customers are internal business teams, GIS professionals, engineering teams, and enterprise stakeholders, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through technical innovation, process automation, and high-quality software development.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain GIS web applications and custom tools using ESRI technologies
  • Develop modern web-based GIS user interfaces using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and ESRI JavaScript APIs
  • Build and support applications utilizing ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Experience Builder, and custom web GIS frameworks
  • Develop and maintain GIS automation scripts and workflows using Python, ArcPy, ArcGIS Python API, and Arcade expressions
  • Support enterprise GIS integrations with databases, REST APIs, and third-party systems
  • Develop, configure, and maintain FME workflows for ETL processes, data transformation, and system integrations
  • Assist in the administration and support of enterprise geodatabases and GIS infrastructure environments
  • Review, optimize, and refactor existing applications for performance, scalability, maintainability, and security
  • Collaborate with business teams to identify workflow improvements and automation opportunities
  • Participate in software testing, debugging, quality assurance, and deployment activities
  • Research and evaluate emerging GIS technologies, AI-assisted development tools, and automation solutions
  • Document technical designs, workflows, standards, and development processes
  • Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning and peer code reviews
  • Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field required
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field preferred

Experience

  • Experience developing web-based GIS applications and enterprise geospatial solutions
  • Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS development
  • Working knowledge of ESRI GIS technologies including ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online
  • Experience developing automation scripts using Python, ArcPy, and ArcGIS Python API

  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted GIS environments and enterprise integrations

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, automation technologies, and modern software engineering practices
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments
  • Telecommunications, utility, engineering, or infrastructure industry experience preferred
