Zayo is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer, Inventory to join our growing Network Automation team. In this role, you'll be a key player in building, scaling, and automating the next generation of our network tooling infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain innovative tools and solutions to meet evolving business needs. This could be something as simple as UI data validation rule, or as complex as ML tools for extrapolating missing data.

  • Leverage open source automation tools and scripting languages in commercial tools (e.g., Python, Ansible, ServiceNow, Salesforce, etc) to validate human entered data and increase the overall amount of machine to machine communications and reduce human entered data.

  • Contribute to solving complex technical and process problems, such extracting variable data from pdfs.

  • Refactor and consolidate existing tools to be a cohesive suite of tools that improve ease of use and reduce swivel-chairing to get the job done.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, SRE) to ensure security and optimal application performance.

  • Own new features through the project lifecycle, working collaboratively with a team of software developers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.

  • Stay up-to-date on emerging network technologies and best practices, becoming the beacon for best practices and efficient processes through the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent experience.)

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in software development with a variety of languages such as Python, Javascript, SQL, and GraphQL.

  • Experience working with various databases such as Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, and Neo4j with large and complex data sets.

  • Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (Python, React, Javascript.)

  • Extensive experience in both building and integrating with RESTful APIs.

  • Experience with both the Salesforce and ServiceNow APIs.

  • Experience with async processing and message bus communications (RabbitMQ, Kafka.)

  • Strong abilities on the Linux command line, working with various flavors of Linux and Docker/Kubernetes.

  • Strong understanding of applied statistics and the ability to code systems that identify outlier behavior in large systems.

  • Previous experience delivering, maintaining and promoting a production software product.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and experience using a variety of remote collaboration tools including Jira, Confluence, Google Suite, Zoom, etc.

  • Experience using Git for code management, review and deployment.

  • A passion for tackling complex problems and combining technical and process solutions.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience using common design patterns and ML clustering and ensemble methods to predict best values for missing data.

  • Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and network services (Internet, transport, etc.)

  • Experience extracting data from variable and complex data sources like pdf, shape files, and old flat files.

Estimated Base Salary Range: $98,500 - $136,900 USD/annually.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
