Job description

Data Engineer – Data & AI, Supply Chain (Remote)
 
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the Data & AI Supply Chain Organization. This role will focus on designing, developing, and supporting scalable cloud-based data products and data pipelines that power analytics and AI initiatives across Supply Chain domains including Sourcing, Transportation, and Warehouse Management (WMS).
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Dataproc, BigQuery, SQL, and dbt, along with expertise in building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and modern data warehouse solutions.
 
This is a 40-hour per week, 18-month contract (possible extension), a remote role.
 
This is a W2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and a 401K are offered.
 
Responsibilities:
●    Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
●    Build and optimize data solutions using Dataproc, BigQuery, SQL, and dbt.
●    Develop and maintain scalable data models that support analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives.
●    Ingest, transform, validate, and publish data from multiple enterprise source systems.
●    Partner with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Data Architects, and Solution Architects to deliver business-driven data solutions.
●    Develop reusable data transformation components following engineering standards and best practices.
●    Optimize data processing performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
●    Perform unit testing, data validation, troubleshooting, and production support to ensure high-quality data solutions.
●    Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and code reviews.
●    Create and maintain technical documentation including data flows, solution designs, and implementation details.
 
Requirements:
●    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
●    4+ years of Data Engineering experience.
●    Hands-on experience building cloud-native data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
●    Strong experience with:
○    Dataproc
○    BigQuery
○    SQL
○    dbt (Data Build Tool)
●    Experience designing and building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
●    Strong knowledge of dimensional data modeling and analytical data warehouse concepts.
●    Experience working with Git-based version control and CI/CD practices.
●    Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
●    Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
•    Experience with Apache Airflow.
•    Experience with Apache Kafka or other event streaming platforms.
•    Experience with PySpark.
•    Python programming experience for data engineering and automation.
•    Knowledge of data quality, metadata management, and data governance principles.
