Job description

Summary of Duties

Provides engineering support for the design, analysis, integration, testing, and documentation of ruggedized radar and communication systems while gaining practical engineering experience. Assists with software development, FPGA firmware development, electronic circuit design, PCB schematic capture and layout, electronic assembly and subassembly characterization, hardware integration, system testing, data analysis, and technical documentation. Supports the planning and execution of engineering and environmental testing, prototype fabrication, and verification activities. Participates in design reviews and collaborates with cross-functional engineering teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, procurement, and technicians. Performs a variety of engineering assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers. Exhibits sound engineering judgment, a willingness to learn, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. Other duties may be assigned by management.


Scope of Position

Reports To: Engineering Supervisor or Engineering Manager

Supervises: None

Signature Authority: None

Level of Interaction:
Regularly collaborates with project technical leads, senior engineers, engineering group leaders, technicians, quality assurance personnel, manufacturing, procurement, and outside vendors to support the design, testing, production, and delivery of engineering projects.


Minimum QualificationsEducation

Accepted into or pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.

Experience

Previous internship, laboratory, research, or academic project experience in electrical engineering is preferred but not required.

Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills
  • Fundamental understanding of analog and digital circuit design.
  • Basic understanding of software development and embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with FPGA architecture and firmware development concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of PCB schematic capture and layout.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional Suite.
  • Ability to learn new engineering concepts, software, and laboratory equipment quickly.
  • May be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
