Job description

Be Part Of A High-Performing Team
Join a global financial services organization supporting complex Fixed Income and derivatives technology across the full trade lifecycle. This team works closely with trading, operations, risk, finance, and engineering stakeholders to strengthen the systems that support high-value swaps and other OTC derivatives transactions.
The environment is highly collaborative, technically demanding, and well suited for a hands-on developer who can connect front-office trading activity with middle-office controls and back-office processing. The successful candidate will help improve data integrity, system reliability, and workflow performance across interconnected capital markets platforms.
What's In Store For You
  • Engagement: W2 only; no C2C or 1099.
  • Contract opportunity with the intention of converting to permanent employment.
  • Hybrid role based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
  • Exposure to front-, middle-, and back-office Fixed Income and derivatives workflows.
  • Opportunity to develop Python solutions for complex trading and post-trade systems.
  • Direct collaboration with developers, product specialists, operations teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Work involving high-value swaps transactions, complex data flows, and multimillion-dollar payment processes.

How You Will Make An Impact
  • Develop Python solutions for Fixed Income and OTC derivatives platforms.
  • Support front-office workflows involving trade capture, pricing, execution, and booking.
  • Contribute to middle-office processes involving trade enrichment, confirmations, lifecycle events, reconciliations, controls, risk, and exception management.
  • Support back-office functions including settlement, accounting, regulatory reporting, cash flows, and derivatives payments.
  • Write advanced SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, issue investigation, and root-cause analysis.
  • Develop and enhance backend services, APIs, web services, and data-processing capabilities.
  • Trace trades and data across interconnected front-, middle-, and back-office applications.
  • Identify gaps, risks, data breaks, and processing issues across the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
  • Translate business and operational requirements into reliable technical solutions.
  • Review development stories and requirements to assess technical impact, dependencies, and delivery needs.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous integration, execution reporting, and system-quality practices.

Do You Bring Proven Success in Python Development and Front-to-Back Capital Markets Technology?
  • At least five years of experience in Python development, backend engineering, application development, or software engineering.
  • Strong hands-on Python coding ability and readiness to complete a technical coding assessment.
  • Direct experience supporting Fixed Income Capital Markets applications or workflows.
  • Practical knowledge of swaps or other OTC derivatives, such as interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, repos, or similar products.
  • Strong understanding of the complete trade lifecycle from execution and booking through confirmation, reconciliation, settlement, accounting, reporting, and payment.
  • Front-office experience involving trading, pricing, execution, trade capture, or booking workflows.
  • Middle-office experience involving trade validation, lifecycle events, risk controls, P&L, confirmations, reconciliations, or exception management.
  • Back-office experience involving settlement, accounting, regulatory reporting, cash flows, and payment processing.
  • Strong SQL skills, including complex queries used for reconciliation, validation, and issue investigation.
  • Experience developing backend services, APIs, web services, or data-focused applications.
  • Ability to understand complex application integrations and data movement across multiple capital markets systems.
  • Strong software engineering mindset with the ability to work closely with developers, analysts, traders, operations teams, and business partners.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, risk-identification, and requirements-analysis skills.
  • Availability to work in a hybrid model in Charlotte, North Carolina.
