Job description

As Data Scientist (Demand Planning), you will lead forecasting and data science capabilities within Coty's demand planning organization, improving forecast accuracy while mentoring an inhouse analytics team. Your work will directly impact inventory, service levels, and planning performance across the business.

THE ROLE

OPTIMIZE, ENABLE, INNOVATE!

As our Data Scientist (Demand Planning), you play a critical role in strengthening demand planning through advanced forecasting models and strong team leadership. You will act as the technical reference for data science in demand planning, improving algorithms and enabling datadriven decisions across categories.

You will be reporting to the Demand Planning Lead, and you will manage:

1. Technical leadership & forecasting models:

  • Lead improvement of forecasting algorithms and predictive models
  • Apply machine learning and AI techniques to demand planning use cases
  • Review model performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Ensure robustness and scalability of forecasting solutions

2. Team leadership & people management:

  • Directly manage 4 inhouse Data Analysts
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and development support
  • Set clear priorities and ways of working for the analytics team
  • Act as a technical and professional role model

3. Collaboration & system enablement:

  • Work closely with external O9 Data Science consultants on backend changes
  • Support implementation and adoption of O9 as the demand planning system
  • Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations for planning teams
  • Partner with demand planning stakeholders across all business units

YOU ARE A COTY FIT

As a Data Scientist with strong leadership capabilities, you thrive in a fastpaced and diverse environment. You are structured, confident, and comfortable guiding teams through change.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist
  • Experience in demand planning
  • Proficiency SQL and/or Python, working in Databricks, being able to develop dashboards in Power BI
  • Skilled in working with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Solid background in predictive modeling and forecasting
  • Proven experience leading Data Scientists or Data Analysts
  • Experience with machine learning and statistical models (optional)
