Director, Data Science Operations sought by Merastar Insurance Company in Chicago, IL. 40 hrs./wk. Duties include: Analyze, estimate & define data transformation req. to load data into EDW, Snowflake, Postgres, S3 (enterprise production & custom-built analytics environment). Create ETL architecture & design flows to illustrate data mvmt from production to analytics environments (new & legacy AWS analytics environments). Design & develop database code software. Analyze project & make strategy for analytics data solutions & AI model support & deployment. ETL & analytics S3 storage projects. Lead analytics/data science ETL projects. Lead team. Evaluate organization's tech. needs, create POCs for new implementation or tech. enhancement & recommend improvements. Remote working benefits available. Can work from anywhere in U.S. MIN REQ: Bach. degree, or foreign equiv., in Comp Sci, Eng’g, Math, Physics or related field. 10 yrs exp. in job offered or as Database Architect or Data Warehousing Specialist. SPECIAL SKILLS: 10 yrs exp w/ SQL & adapt skills in multiple relational tech. (Redshift, Hive, SparkSQL etc.); event oriented, Reactive architectures. 8 yrs exp w/ Python data skills w/ Pandas, & XML/JSON parsing. 5 yrs exp w/ AWS tech. Redshift, Glue, DynamoDB, S3; streaming platforms such as Spark Streaming, Flink & workflow mgrs such as Airflow; at least one ETL tool such as Informatica, Pentaho, SAP, etc. 2 yrs exp implementing at scale, messaging sys. such as Amazon Kinesis or Apache Kafka; languages such as Java or Scala. Travel: Up to 5% short-term, domestic travel may be involved to attend industry conferences. Wage range: $160,555 to $226,500.
