Overview
The R&D Co-op for Data Analysis and AI Implementation will play a key role in advancing the organization's digital transformation initiatives by analyzing business data, identifying operational insights, and supporting the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across multiple departments. This position offers hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams to increase business intelligence, improve decision-making, automate business processes, and develop innovative AI solutions that increase efficiency and productivity.
Responsibilities
  • Collect, clean, organize, and analyze data from multiple business functions, including Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Field Service, Smart-Connected Products, and others.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure operational performance.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support business decision-making.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management and department leaders.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend AI technologies that improve business processes.
  • Work with department leaders to identify opportunities where AI can automate repetitive tasks or enhance decision-making.
  • Build prototypes and proof-of-concept AI applications using modern AI platforms and APIs.
  • Develop AI-powered solutions, automations, and workflows to increase efficiency.
  • Assist with the implementation of AI tools across the organization.
  • Serve as an internal AI resource for employees across departments.
  • Conduct workshops and one-on-one training sessions on AI tools and responsible AI usage.
  • Develop training materials, user guides, and best practices for AI adoption.
  • Help establish standards and governance for effective and secure AI implementation.
  • Support other R&D initiatives focused on digital transformation.

Qualifications
Educational/Experience:
Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of data analytics and their strategic business impact.
  • Strong understanding of AI tools including their development and implementation.
Skills:
  • Basic programming experience in Python or other programming languages
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience working with AI tools, platforms, and agents
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications - Excel and Word
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good project management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be proactive in engaging with other team members and project stakeholders in sharing information and soliciting feedback.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
  • Highly-motivated, self-starter, capable of working in both a team environment and on individual assignments effectively
