Job description

Data Analyst, Senior

The Opportunity:

As data analyst, you love diving into data and turning it into meaningful insights. With the abundance of structured and unstructured data, you understand the importance of transforming complex data sets into useful information to solve challenges. As a data analyst at Booz Allen, you can use your skills and experience to support a mission and use data for good. We need a data analyst like you to bring your knowledge to empower our clients to understand data.

As a client-facing data analyst on our team, you'll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of their data, but you'll also advise your client on what the information means and how it can be used to make an impact on optimizing government technologies.

As a data analyst on our team, you'll be responsible for analyzing structured and unstructured data to support decision-making across our client's organization. This role involves working with data sets from various sources to develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that help leadership and operational teams gain actionable insights. The analyst will collaborate with database administrators, system engineers, and mission stakeholders to deliver high-quality, data-driven visualization solutions in support of SOCOM's mission.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Use your technical knowledge and analytical mindset to support client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions.
  • Collect, interpret, and analyze large data sets from multiple sources to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Contribute to impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or other data integration platforms.
  • Write queries and scripts to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from enterprise databases.
  • Ensure compliance with client data governance, classification, and cybersecurity standards.
  • Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, operational planning, and mission readiness assessments.
  • Apply communication skills and data analytics experience by simplifying technical requirements and trends, based on audience.
  • Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases, Palantir applications such as Foundry, analytics tools such as Tableau, Qlik, and Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.
  • Apply data visualization through different formats, including Tableau or Power BI.
  • Mentor junior team members by reviewing analytical outputs, ensuring adherence to USSOCOM data governance standards, and fostering technical skill development.

Work with us to help drive large-scale business and process decisions through data insights.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or data science
  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining data applications for reporting and analytics at enterprise scale
  • Experience with Palantir Maven Smart System
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI
  • Experience creating solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Experience writing queries for data extraction and analysis
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of Python, Java, C++, or .NET
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Data Science, or Mathematics

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with distributed data and computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, or Kafka
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint integration for data visualization or workflow automation
  • Experience with Agile engineering practices
  • Experience working within a Combatant Command or other DoD organization

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
