Full Stack Developer
As a Full Stack Developer at Cryptic Vector, you'll design, build, and develop full-spectrum software solutions that directly address some of the most complex technical challenges facing government missions today. Working in secure, high-stakes environments, you'll own end-to-end development-from intuitive user interfaces to robust back-end processing and data infrastructure-delivering mission-critical capabilities that perform reliably when it matters most. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mission stakeholders, and external partners to translate requirements into production-ready systems that support national security objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop new features and applications while modernizing and enhancing existing legacy codebases to improve performance, security, and maintainability
  • Create detailed API specifications, design RESTful or other interfaces, and integrate with external/third-party APIs and services
  • Design and implement responsive, user-focused front-end interfaces using modern frameworks (React/Angular), HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Architect and build back-end processing logic and services for complex, data-intensive applications using Python, and/or Node.js
  • Design, implement, and optimize database schemas, queries, and storage solutions using SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and security
  • Develop and maintain scripting automation in Bash, Python, or other languages to support deployment, data processing, and tooling
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices for readability, extensibility, and security across the full stack
  • Implement comprehensive automated testing suites: unit tests, integration tests, functional/end-to-end tests, and performance/stress testing to validate behavior across environments
  • Provide technical leadership in software architecture discussions, including trade-off analyses, design patterns, and recommendations for scalable, secure solutions
  • Produce clear, professional documentation including code comments, API references, architecture diagrams, deployment instructions, and user-facing materials
  • Engage directly with end users and stakeholders to gather feedback, demonstrate features, and iterate on solutions
  • Perform thorough, constructive code reviews to uphold code quality, security standards, and team consistency
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full stack, from UI rendering to database performance and API integrations
  • Participate in Agile processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and continuous improvement

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field (or equivalent professional experience demonstrating comparable depth)
  • 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack development, with proven work on front-end and/or back-end components in production environments
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one modern front-end framework (React preferred; Angular acceptable), along with HTML5 and CSS for building responsive UIs
  • Solid experience with back-end development in Python, including API design, implementation, and server-side logic (experience with Node.js is a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with relational (SQL) and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies, including story-point estimation, sprint participation, and iterative delivery
  • Familiarity with version control and CI/CD tools (GitLab preferred)
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail in code, testing, and requirements
  • Experience writing and maintaining automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) and understanding of testing best practices
  • Proficiency in Bash or other scripting languages for automation tasks

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in government, defense, or intelligence community projects, with awareness of security/compliance considerations (e.g., handling classified data, secure coding practices)
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration basics (Kubernetes) for deployment
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) for hosting and scaling applications
  • Contributions to code quality through tools like linters, static analysis, or automated pipelines
