Python Coding Internship information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Python Coding Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Python Coding Intern, you need a solid understanding of Python programming fundamentals, problem-solving abilities, and a background in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, code editors such as VS Code, and basic knowledge of frameworks like Flask or Django is often expected. Strong communication, eagerness to learn, and teamwork are soft skills that help interns collaborate effectively and adapt quickly. These skills and qualities are crucial for contributing to projects, learning from mentors, and building a foundation for a successful software development career.

What is the difference between Python Coding Internship vs Python Developer?

AspectPython Coding InternshipPython Developer

Search & Comparison IntentLooking for entry-level Python roles or internshipsSeeking professional Python development roles

The main difference between a Python Coding Internship and a Python Developer role lies in experience level, responsibilities, and work environment. Internships are designed for students or recent graduates gaining initial exposure, often with supervised tasks. Python Developers are experienced professionals managing complex projects independently. Both roles are essential in the Python ecosystem, but they serve different career stages and expectations.

What types of projects can I expect to work on during a Python Coding Internship?

As a Python Coding Intern, you will likely be assigned to real-world projects that help build your programming skills and exposure to industry practices. These projects often range from developing automation scripts, data analysis tools, or web applications to assisting in quality assurance and debugging tasks. You may work independently on small assignments or collaborate with experienced developers on larger features. This hands-on experience not only strengthens your technical skills but also helps you learn teamwork, version control, and agile development methods commonly used in professional environments.

What is a Python Coding Internship?

A Python Coding Internship is a temporary position designed for students or recent graduates to gain practical experience in programming with Python. Interns typically work on real-world projects, assist with software development tasks, and learn from experienced developers. The internship provides hands-on exposure to coding, debugging, and using Python libraries and frameworks. It is an excellent opportunity to build technical skills, enhance your resume, and network within the tech industry.

Platform & Infrastructure Engineer

LG Ad Solutions

Denver, CO โ€ข On-site

$112K - $176K/yr

Full-time

Posted 2 days ago

Job description

We require people to be on-site, 4 days/week at our Denver or NYC office and are unable to offer relocation support.
LG Ad Solutions
LG Ad Solutions is a global leader in connected TV (CTV) and cross-screen advertising. We pride ourselves on delivering state-of-the-art advertising solutions that integrate seamlessly with today's ever-evolving digital media landscape.
The Opportunity
We're growing our infrastructure team in Denver and looking for an engineer who has gotten their hands dirty with both physical infrastructure and cloud environments - someone who's moved past tutorials and has real scars from production systems. You don't need to have all the answers yet, but you should be able to own a task end-to-end, ask good questions, and learn fast in a hybrid environment that spans data centers and AWS.
You'll work alongside senior engineers on a team that's actively building out our on-premises layer - provisioning servers, managing network infrastructure, extending our IaC practices, and keeping everything running reliably. This is a role where you'll be doing real work from day one, with mentorship and context from engineers who've built these systems before.
A note on what we're not looking for:
This role isn't for someone who's only worked in fully managed cloud environments and wants to stay there. The on-prem side of this team is real and growing - if physical infrastructure sounds boring or intimidating, this probably isn't the right fit. If it sounds interesting and you want to learn it properly, we'd love to talk.
Responsibilities
Hybrid Infrastructure
  • Assist with deployment and maintenance of on-premises compute, storage, and networking infrastructure alongside our AWS environment
  • Participate in bare metal server provisioning and OS deployment workflows
  • Support day-to-day network operations: troubleshoot connectivity issues, help maintain firewall rules, VLANs, and VPN configurations under senior guidance
  • Help maintain and document storage systems and cloud connectivity configurations

Automation & Platform Support
  • Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible for both on-prem and cloud resources
  • Support CI/CD pipeline maintenance and help onboard teams to existing platform tooling
  • Assist with Kubernetes cluster operations - deployments, troubleshooting, resource management - across bare metal and EKS environments
  • Contribute automation scripts and tooling improvements in Python or Bash

Security & Reliability
  • Follow established security standards for on-prem and cloud: help maintain RBAC configurations, apply patches, and support access management processes
  • Participate in on-call rotation with support from senior engineers; help investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents
  • Contribute to monitoring dashboards and alert configuration across hybrid environments

Collaboration
  • Work closely with senior engineers and application teams to understand infrastructure needs and translate them into tickets and tasks
  • Keep runbooks, wikis, and operational documentation current as you learn systems
  • Flag issues, ambiguities, and potential improvements - your observations from ground-level operations matter
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, systems administration, or a related role
  • At least one full-time industry role beyond your first job (internships and co-ops count toward the foundation, but we're looking for professional experience in a production environment)
  • Comfortable with Linux system administration: file systems, networking, process management, bash scripting
  • Hands-on experience with at least one IaC tool - Terraform or Ansible preferred
  • Working knowledge of AWS fundamentals: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, and basic networking concepts
  • Basic networking understanding: IP addressing, DNS, VLANs, firewalls - you don't need to configure BGP from scratch, but you should be able to troubleshoot a connectivity issue
  • Experience with or exposure to Kubernetes - doesn't need to be bare metal, but you should understand the basics of pods, deployments, and services
  • Scripting ability in Python or Bash for automation tasks

Nice to Have
  • Any exposure to physical infrastructure: data center work, homelab, or on-prem environments in a professional setting
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt, or similar)
  • AWS certification (any level) or in-progress certification
  • Experience with observability tooling: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK
