Job description

Job Title: Python/ AWS Architect

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking an experienced Python/AWS Architect to join our dynamic team.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecting, designing, and implementing scalable and secure cloud-based solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Python.
  • You will provide technical leadership, set architectural direction, and ensure best practices across our development and deployment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, architect, and implement scalable, resilient, and secure cloud solutions using AWS services.
  • Lead the development of backend services and serverless applications using Python.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Develop and enforce architecture standards, best practices, and guidelines.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and patterns for cloud-based application development.
  • Oversee code reviews, technical documentation, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
  • Ensure solutions are optimized for cost, performance, and security.
  • Mentor and guide development teams on AWS services and Python best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.
  • Participate in agile development processes and contribute to sprint planning and execution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in an architect or lead role.
  • Strong expertise in Python programming and its frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI, etc.).
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services: EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFormation, ECS/EKS, IAM, etc.
  • Experience with serverless architecture and microservices patterns.
  • Proficient in designing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.
  • Strong understanding of application security, networking, and cloud cost optimization.
  • Experience with DevOps tools: Docker, Terraform/CloudFormation, Jenkins, Git, etc.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions (CloudWatch, ELK, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional) or relevant AWS certifications.
  • Experience with data engineering, ETL pipelines, or machine learning workloads on AWS.
  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of front-end frameworks (React, Angular) is a plus.
