This opportunity offers the chance to design and build production-grade backend services for enterprise applications, with a strong focus on cloud-native microservices, REST APIs, and scalable integration solutions. The role will suit a technically strong software engineer who can contribute to architecture discussions, software quality, performance optimisation, and reliable delivery across distributed global teams. This position will play a key part in developing secure, high-performance backend systems in a modern engineering environment.
Required Experience:
  • Strong experience building production-grade enterprise software using Java or Python.
  • Hands-on experience developing cloud-native microservices, REST APIs, enterprise integrations, and scalable backend solutions.
  • Experience contributing to technical design and architecture discussions for enterprise-grade applications.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex production issues, performing root-cause analysis, and driving performance optimisation.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Owners, Architects, DevOps teams, QA teams, and business stakeholders across distributed global teams and time zones.
Required Skills:
  • Java with Spring Boot preferred, or Python using FastAPI, Flask, Django, or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Golang.
  • Strong RESTful API design and development skills, including API Gateway patterns and OpenAPI / Swagger.
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills, including Shell/Bash scripting.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
  • Knowledge of Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket, along with automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven architectures, and message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Testing expertise using unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, PyTest, Mockito, test automation, API testing tools such as Postman, and static code analysis tools including SonarQube.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools including Grafana, Prometheus, and ELK.
  • Strong grounding in design patterns, SOLID principles, high availability, scalability design, log analysis, and debugging.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, independent working capability, and effective stakeholder communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the telecommunications domain.
  • Knowledge of TM Forum Open APIs including TMF620, TMF641, TMF622, TMF633, TMF638, and TMF640.
  • Experience implementing Telecom OSS/BSS integrations.
  • Experience with Kubernetes-based deployments in production environments.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architecture patterns.
